 Rubies will hesitate for a moment before stating "Sorry about your arm. Yes, that friend of mine was a patron who I meet a few years ago. And while I was freeing Zenlos, I must have broken our 'contract' because I passed out. Only to wake to no powers and Zenlos giving me a check up." Her eyes seem as if she was piercing your heart with an icicle. "Are you familiar with such deals? Or am I the first you have met?"

 "I don't have much familiarity with these deals, though i have met a few before." He pulls out a small book and starts flipping through it. "Each deal is wildly different, though i've never heard of someone outright losing their powers."

"Well, in my case I unwittingly broke this deal. I can not speak for others. But the same way I get my power from my patron would have been like a cleric or missionary gaining their powers from their deity of choice." She explains. "I am sure that there are plenty who have broken a deal with Raqi...I mean their patron. But, it different when that ball is in your court." She begins general prepping dishes to make the lunch crowds meals.

 *OOC:I have done some research, since i play warlock periodicly, and if you sell your soul you would keep the abilities, while if you do favors for the patron, they can cancel the pact and remove your abilities.*

 Deryk looks up questioningly, "That does not seem very nice tasting." and downs it in one gulp, "How'd it get it's name?"

 "Honestly I am not to sure but the rumor goes that several travelers crossed the desert. And on their journey half of the party drowned in a desert. No one believe the survivors because no one can drown in the desert. The three travelers returned to the spot of their fallen compatriots and brought back some of the sand to the village. That night, the three enchanted the sand and poured into every ones drink. Those who drank began choking on the sand, and those who didn't said the drinks were bubbling and hissing. After the three travelers were jailed a geologist let the leader of the village know about a bubbling landmark of sand off to the east of the village. The village left and all said that sand reminded the of the drink that the men gave them. The quickness of their death coined the term quicksand to the people. Now we (as humanoids) have mastered the deserts we redeemed the sands and the drink to give joy to all."
