So Earth's new limited time DLC arrived. What do y'all think? Did the gameplay live up to the hype?
Also, just realized that mirrors have a dumb animation error where they flip what they're reflecting horizontally. Might file a bug report about this.
Also in reality I didn't just realize that about mirrors. For the sake of mild attempts at humorous speech.
Do you mean the second moon? That’s not DLC, just a limited time event.
Also it isn’t an animation error. The developers wanted to hint at the possibility of a fourth dimension sequel so they put an equation in the game that would make mirrors show what a fourth dimension could do to us.
Oh, I thought it was limited time DLC. My bad.
Ohhhhh, interesting! Would play a fourth dimension sequel. Hope it does release!

As far as I know, the only effect it has now is more werewolf spawns in the hardcore mode and higher tides.
I’m hoping for a more cohesive story mode. Not an offense to the developers, but the Earth story mode just has a lot going on at once.

Oh, kinda anticlimactic considering we haven't gotten a new moon in 4.5 billion years.
Yeah. I'm impressed by how much they made, but there's so many side quests and main arcs and stuff that it's hard to keep track.

That we know of. Remember that we only had astronomy as a main feature for a few centuries.
I guess that’s the appeal of the game. You don’t need to know everything that’s going on, and there’s something for everybody.
I took a look at the PHB and I created a Gloomstalker Ranger character using the new rules. I guess I’m looking forward to the DMG more than the PHB because I prefer lore to rules. How about you?

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).

Idk if it’s worth it to invest in the new rules, recently our DM has actually been using Elder Scrolls which seems like a cool system. It seems to me the new version just is the same thing with slight tweaks and switched up cons and pros

You’re basically not wrong. I just bought them because my group still plays D&D and our DM wants to use the new rules. They are kind of expensive ($30 for a new book just for a digital copy on DDB), so if you guys are using Elder Scrolls you might be better off just skipping them. I am looking forward to the Greyhawk lore and the new cosmology stuff in the DMG though.

Okay....
Wdym “Okay….”
also I get that, lore is important to me but less so then mechanics, and Elder Scrolls seems to have some extremely developed lore already

I love it. A dragon who owns an orphanage who’s horde consists of adoption paperwork for every child they have ever helped get adopted and letters from said children as adults thanking them and telling the dragon about their new lives.

I haven’t found anything too extreme yet (note it’s session 12 with the system, so it’s not been too long) but it seems very developed, in an LOTR kinda way almost
Oh, I thought it was limited time DLC. My bad.
