I swiftly move down the stairs, and see my presents stacked on the countertop. I grab a bag of cupcakes and run out the door.

Alex sprints, he makes it to the bus on time. He’s looking and when he finds his friends, he sits down. “Hey Paul, how are you?”
“Good,” Paul responds, “Happy Birthday.”
“Thanks for remembering,” Alex replies, “Are you coming for ice cream later?”
“Of course!” He says. The bus then stops. We exit and head for classroom 314. On the whiteboard, the words “Long Division” are written. The teacher announces, “The board was actually to throw you off. Today is field day!”
“HURRAY!” Everyone except Alex says.
Bryce then starts chanting, “Field day, field day, field day…”

Alex replies, “STOP!” While speaking in a very irritated tone. Outside there was a bright flash of light. It was said to be harmless.
Everyone chooses to ignore it, everyone but Alex. He seems very curious, like it’s his calling. That thought then races through his head. He mutters to himself. “But it can’t be, only The Chosen One’s calling is a flash of light. I am just a nerd from the small town of Lelsilve, Nieles.”
Alex follows his class out to field day. He starts muttering again, “The Chosen One is destined to save the world. It can’t be me.
He continues to ponder. “It couldn’t be me could it?” He says, “There’s not enough evidence to support it so far. I fail to believe.”
