Being a punk does not necessitate being rude or mean to everyone. It just means defying authority openly. In this case, the character is sweet, but does what is necessary to protect and care for others, even if it's illegal.

For the "how" it's pretty simple. You can change the font size easily. And while the default options given by DDB are 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24, 36 you can hit the button to edit the HTML and give a custom size. So what you saw was 900px type. (bold)
