lol. AI's everywhere nowadays, isn't it? Just perching itself atop the digital world. And for me -> in the middle of History. Just finished a bunch of easy stuff on the good ol' Declaration of Independence. (it's starting to feel like we redo the American unit EVERY YEAR -- like guys I get we live in America but this is the same thing yearly :/)
do they at least add more detail? American history is cool but you do have to switch it up a bit
Not really. Just "read the Bill of Rights", "read the Declaration of Independence", "read X Y Z that we read last year". We don't ever get past ~1800, it's always just the Revolution. I'd just like to go a bit further along...like if we were learning about the expansion to the West, I could justify reading Steinbeck in class.
And: I agree with Paco. American history's never been a topic of interest. Too prolixious for me, and just overall...it's a lot of "wow, we (GP)ed up here, don't do that again guys."
that’s valid, though I will say a whole lot of history (even non American) is kind of “wow shouldn’t do that again.” It’s a huge part of history really, in the same way that a person sees their mistakes and grows I feel like history is that but on an entire nation/world/regional level.
The revolution is cool but I feel like the 1800s and above had some of the most interesting stuff. Westward expansion in of itself feels like there’s a lot more to learn than the revolution, and so much happened alongside of it
1900s is also interesting, but that’s what I did most recently so I’m slightly biased cause I remember all of it
yeah we need history so we can learn from our mistakes. I personally like the 1500s and 1600s, maybe a little bit of 1700s.
