Sorry, I know that this is quite a late reply.
First off, just want to say absolutely no offense taken, you have a very valid point, I just feel that you may have misunderstood my post and would really like to clarify.
I was really not trying to come across as “complaining” about anything. If all I had wanted to say was how disappointing off topic has become then yes, you’re right, I absolutely should and would have just left quietly.
But I posted really just to say thank you and a proper goodbye.
As more of a side note I explained that I would not be super active anymore because I don’t think that DDB will ever go back to what it was, and that I was sad about that.
I CERTAINLY do not think it would be right for me to wait around for someone else to fix it. And I never said that anybody should do more or put in more effort.
All I said is that I just don’t think DDB WILL ever be as good as it was.
I’m not saying that it’s a lack of effort. I just don’t think it will happen.
I really hope I’m wrong about this, but as I see things right now, I just don’t think we can ever come close to what we had.
And, to be honest, the state of DDB is really quite understandable. It might be sad, and I certainly wish it was different, but you can’t blame anyone for the way it is. I mean, people CAN’T really stick around forever. And most of them haven’t. Not necessarily because they don’t want to put in the effort, but because everyone has a life to live.
Even in DDB’s prime, when I was most active, I couldn’t put in as much time as I wanted.
So no, I don’t really think it’s a problem of effort, and if it was I would never sit on my ass complaining for somebody else to put it in.
Idk, maybe I’m completely wrong and it is a problem of effort, but that’s not how I see it.
Sorry for such a long rant, just really wanted to make sure I was understood correctly.
