Rate my setting intro:
Once there was a sprawling empire of Latsia which was the greatest power in Alvenheim. But as time pressed on, Monstrosities from the Eastern Desert started to weaken the Empire. When a portal to Inferno opened in the deep south, Latsia was unprepared and the empire was crushed by the fiends until the survivors managed to open a portal to Heaven at Fool’s Peak. The Celestial Brigade came down and led the defense of Materia bringing with them the anvilwrought and warforged constructs to aid them. The Celestial Brigade also has a mercenary army from which many veterans emerge. Now pushing back the demon hordes, new dangers raise their heads. Mind Flayers have come into the Underdark, Gnolls are invading the imperial basin, the ancient lords of the Undead are returning and for the first time in a hundred years, the sea once again holds kraken.
