Despite its popularity on the internet, not every culture has widespread internet access. Nor do all people with internet access get involved with internet culture. Furthermore, the rickroll is predominantly utilized in English-speaking communities online, although it's also gained some popularity in communities of other languages. So I can see how someone could actually end up not knowing what a rickroll is via various avenues. In fact I recently saw a fascinating documentary on the matter that took a deep dive into the ins and outs of the rickroll's history. Particularly interesting was the interview segment with Tim Berners-Lee, the guy that first proposed the internet, and his takes on how the internet has evolved from what he initially conceived of it.

Hey. The player who refuses to learn the rules is now driving me, well, nuts!
As a curiosity, what are some other things they've gone on to do now?
For the first thing, this player is American and has access to the internet, though I guess he doesn’t get familiar with the culture. But what got me ticked off was the fact that he was singing ‘Never gonna give you up’, and didn’t know.
For the second one, my leading frustration is that they ask annoying questions that can either be solved by knowing the rules or observing your surroundings.
Hey, Drake! The drawing is coming along well, but I haven't had as much free time to work on it as I'd like. Not really comfortable with giving an update right now, though.
Life's good, how are you!
Looking forward to my imminent birthday
You guys are awesome and mean so much to me. And mean so much to each other.
