Any specific type of dragons? I'd be tempted to go with another spellcaster. Or maybe something like a Battlemaster or Ranger archer. (Get that nice range to shoot up. And Battlemaster could try the trip attack to burn up LRs since a flying dragon going prone is not going to have a good time, particularly if it's high up.)
Maybe even try something weird like a Rogue/Barbarian multiclass to get advantage via Reckless Attack and a halfling for better Crit Sneak Attacks

We don’t have to. One of the greatest things about DnD beyond is I can hide my Irl pronouns, in Irl I have not yet asked people to call me they/them but I will. Just seems weird but on ddb it seems right.

Don’t know why, people calling me “dude,” just feels weird…
It's a slang term associated with things like surfers, skaters, and other subcultures. Typically not heavily used. So it probably sounds off. Kind of like being called "Bro." Yeah it can be technically correct and sound right in the correct context, but can also stick out like a sore thumb. You can't imagine Jefferson writing, "...the proposition that all dudes/bros are created equal..."
It is typically associated with those cultures, but it has mixed into a lot of others as well. I hear it and say it all the time where I'm from and half of the people I know are rednecks. There is barely even a gender assigned to the word now, it is used to describe both girls and boys.

The only thing I know about 21 Pilots is that a guy I talked to a few years ago dissed them as demonstrating the terrible taste in music of today's youth.

That makes sense and technically it is more accurate. It would just sound weird for me to call a female friend dudette (man I'd get some weird looks) but if I called her dude she wouldn't notice. Maybe this is just a regional thing. That's what I find fun about languages, different dialects and speech variations are fun to discover and use.
