random question, any ideas for some interesting abilities I could give Scylla’s sister? So far I know that she can’t leave the water or maybe even that she can’t leave the seafloor, she can create a giant whirlpool similar to control water but a lot bigger, she can spit water out which can capsize entire boats, and she is able swallow any creature whole, no matter how big they are. She eats entire ships.
oh and similar to Scylla, Charybdis will have a human form (she’s slightly older and is the more responsible of the two sisters) and one part of her will be monstrous. For Scylla it was her dog headed tentacles instead of legs and for Charybdis it will be her left arm which is a giant eel like ravenous maw. (These designs being based off of the SMITE designs for them)
IIRC the enormous tentacle is from an encounter that factors in the pool of water. Gets additional AC from the water if retreats deeper and has the ability to start drowning people it grapples and pulls to it. Could take inspiration from that.
well Charybdis is known for swallowing a ton of water, so maybe you start drowning when she swallows you?
oh and also I just had a random idea for a villain/character. So they use the statistics of a vampire, but they don’t drink blood. You know that myth about how Mermaid blood makes you younger or can heal injuries?
she hunts down mermaids, drains their blood, and then uses it to make herself younger. Her Vampire spawn thralls could be other rich nobles she sells Mermaid blood to, giving them the stats of Vampire spawn.
she wouldn’t have the children of the night feature (or instead it would summon something else, I’ll need to think about it) and her main weapon, replacing her bite, would be her rusty cleaver and her blood extraction needle. Her cleaver could poison the target and the needle could reduce HP maximum.
so what if there is this important Mermaid/Merrow NPC and they are caught by someone working for Mermaid hunter lady, and the party needs to save them before hunter lady extracts their blood and kills them.
