but yeah the music from it is absolutely great, Haus of Holbein is basically about the high expectations of 16th century woman’s fashion but the genre is Funk and everyone has a German accent.

This sentient wand appears made of wood with a bony texture. To attune to this stick you spend an hour with it and make a Wisdom Saving Throw of DC 25. On a failed throw you become possessed by the stick and immediately attack the nearest creature to you, creating an undead if you reduce it to zero hitpoints. (Insert table.) On a successful saving throw you may use the Liche Stick as follows.
The Liche Stick has 20 charges. At dawn it regains 1d8+4 charges. Each charge used deals 20 necrotic damage to yourself which cannot be reduced in any way. If you die as a result of this necrotic damage, you become a liche. You may cast any spell from the Wizard spell list using as many charges for the spell as its level. (Cantrips require 1 charge.) In addition to the necessary charges, roll 1d4 for additional charges used on top of those.
20 charges is a lot, especially when you can get two whole extra ninth level slots. I'm not sure what the last sentence is trying to say though. I like the idea of when you die while attuned to the stick, it turns you into a lich, but maybe there's a chance it fails? And for the attunement clause:
When you attempt to attune to this wand, make a DC 21 WIS saving throw. On a success, you attune to the item. On a fail, you fail to attune and take [amount of damage] necrotic damage. This damage reduces your hit point maximum by the amount until you finish a long rest. You cannot attempt to attune to this item again after failing the saving throw.
My wording is kinda clunky, but that's the idea.
Yeah, probably toning down from 20 charges would be good.
The idea with that last sentence was to add a bit of randomness to the damage. So that a person doesn't say, "I've got 100 health left so I can used 3 charges, take 60 damage, and know it's not gonna turn me into a lich." Rather the base 3 charges for a 3rd level spell get used and then on top of that another 1d4 charges too. So now that person at 100 health is thinking "Okay there's a 25% chance I can use 3 charges and be fine. But a 75% chance I won't. So is this a situation worth rolling the dice in?"
