Hmm... I'm partial to casters, particularly druids and wizards (which might be a little on the nose, but whatever :P), and monks
I like Spores Druid, Scribes Wizard and Bladesinger, and Way of Mercy in those classes respectively!
As far as homebrew rules, crits do max damage + your damage dice roll, bonus action potion drinking, and I'm generally pretty flexible about whatever someone wants to do at my table.

I'm a HUGE fan of bonus action potion drinking. Thank you Baldur's Gate 3 for having amazing rules (one of the only ones I don't like is the 1d4 roll for initiative checks but that's a personal thing).
