They all sound super cool and powerful, but in reality they all die very easily, which is why the game is really hard. It is a survival game though, a horror survival, but a survival game nonetheless. So while the abilities affect the game greatly, it’s not at all like league of legends or similar games. All of the characters also have short animations on YouTube hinting to their backstory, like Wendy’s, called Wish you were here. (Super sad) and Willow’s, “From the Ashes,” (that’s where she burns down the orphanage)
Willow sounds like the spirit animal of anyone that's ever gone camping. Sitting around the campfire is one of the joys there.
Plus I've set dried Christmas wreaths on fire before. It's awesome because they go up quickly and the flames go high. Used one to start a fire in a firepit one time and it singed the leaves of the nearby tree :D

Who's your favorite character to use?
Willow, Maxwell, and I wanna try another character I haven’t yet mentioned sometime soon: Wanda.
wanda, the timekeeper, does not have a health bar. She has an age meter, which goes up passively and when she is attacked. She gets older throughout the day. When she is young, she is strong and fast, and when she is old, she is strong mentally and is frail. She will die in a few days naturally. She has three items that are special to her: a watch that makes her younger, costing nightmare fuel I believe to use and lets her live beyond a few days. A watch that lets her rewind her position and teleport, and a watch that lets her revive herself and other players if they die. She is canonically several hundred years old, and was stalked throughout time by a shadow creature before finally being caught as her time travel and revival watches broke (you can fix them in game) she is also the highest damage dealing character in the game, because she can craft a chain with a watch at the end with spinning knives, which is for some reason insanely dangerous. So yeah, that’s Wanda, and she’s as fragile as Maxwell.

Yeah Wanda is terrifying. She is part of a small group of characters (including Wendy, Wigfrid, and Wolfgang, Wolfgang is strong and Wigfrid Is a method actor playing a Viking queen) that are actually really able to stand up against the monsters if you play them right. Like, if people try to defeat all the mini bosses, they usually play as one of them, usually Wolfgang and Wendy. Wendy’s sister Abigail is a tank.

I'm not sure I have the answers there (hopefully talking with your therapist can help there; it made me glad to know you have someone like that to help you). But I definitely have a lot of sympathy for the rough patch you're going through. And I don't discount what you're dealing with. This game is way more in-depth than I thought. I did not think they'd mystic powers. I just thought they'd each have generic types of stats.
Instead it's appearing more like, even though I've never played it either so my analogy may be wrong, League of Legends heroes or something.
