The 'Ring Around the Rosie' song was actually about the Great Plague. The 'ring around the rosie' was the itchy rash around the infected sore of a person sick with the plague.
The 'pocket full of posies' referred to the flower petals that plague doctors showered deceased patients with to help ward off the odor of the dead body.
The 'ashes' were the cremated remains of the dead.
And the 'we all fall down' part meant death. Just plain frickin' dying.
