All hail the great and mighty platypus.
Resisting is simply standing in front of the tide and pushing at it. Even if you endure at first, you will eventually break down. Adapting, by contrast, is turning into a fish.

Rangers are not underpowered. They’re just exploration-oriented.
I parents bought me Xanathar’s and a D&D grid map with dry erase markers and dice. My dad is a D&D nerd and knows I play so I was both surprised and not. I was very happy!

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
(I wish my dad was a D&D nerd. He only likes camping, fishing, and hiking. He got me a taser lighter and pocket knives.)
I don’t actually own most of the 5e books save for the monster manual (which was also a gift). I tend to read copies from my friends or watch YouTube videos describing the content. I wish I had all the 5e books but that would be a pretty big money sink.

Owning all the 5e books is a pretty large money sink, as you said. Unless you want to collect, don’t get the modules.

Yeah, I would probably skip the actual campaign modules. I still want all the setting books though, like Ravnica, Theros, Wildemount, Eberron, and so on as each setting has bits and pieces I would like to utilize or built from.

It is a big money sink. I own every official D&D 5e book (and some non-official ones), and that took hundreds of dollars to get.

Oh boy, this year is almost over. It dragged on yet also flew by so quickly. It’s a bit surreal.
