I have an idea for a character. Blind character with two big ol floating eyes with tiny dragon-like tails that the character sees through, but they have their own separate personalities and wants.
Perhaps the eyes feed off the characters energy, meaning their constantly physically exhausted, however, the eyes also block the feeling of exhaustion so the character has no idea they're running on fumes.

One of my biggest problems with Earth's worldbuilding is that they literally can't decide the theming. Like, they keep reworking everything. If you want medevial stuff, add it as bonus content. Plus, the element system was so simple back then! Earth, air, fire, water. Now they replaced all of those with oxygen, hydrogen, etc. Lot more complicated and annoying to deal with.

You still have the OG 4 elements if you want them. But the expanded element pack really makes more sense and explained the mechanics of how things were working before.
Plus the medieval theme was limiting player options. So while you can still coat things in a medieval veneer if you want, the expansions allowed more exploration and advancement.
