There's trends I've noticed and I just wonder: when and why did these start?
1. Why are y'all wearing white Crocs?
I know Crocs have been popular for a while. They were popular while I was in high school.
But back in my days the most common colors were black or navy blue.
So when did y'all start wearing white Crocs?
Since I swear it's like 90% of the teens I've seen wearing Crocs lately have them in white.
2. And why y'all wearing socks with them?
Socks with Crocs. Noted fashion faux paus.
Yet y'all wearing socks with them.
Even socks with sandals. (Even those big fat oversized sandal-slippers I don't know the name of that seem to be getting common.)
So when did y'all whippersnappers decide socks with crocs was a good idea?
'Cause it ain't!
3. When did y'all get on the electric bike/scooter craze?
While driving around I've noticed a lot of kids using electric scooters and bikes now. And it's not just 1 kid in the group but a whole gang of y'all with the electrics.
Back in my day we powered our bikes with our darn legs!!!
And then since y'all've got the electric bikes y'all wearing those dirtbike helmets that encase your entire head in like 2 inches of plastic.
4. Switching tack, do y'all know how to turn off your cell phones or smartwatches?
Now and then I'll work events for kids that also require electronic devices turned off. There's been times I've noticed a phone that's on and after asking the teen to turn it off they're like, "I don't know how." For that matter in one case kid turned on their phone and then argued that he hadn't turned it on "because it wasn't fully on."
Same thing with smartwatches. Now in your young 'uns' defense I recently worked the same type of event recently, but with a predominantly adult populace, and they were the main case I saw of people being asked to turn off their smart watch and being like, "I don't know how." So this is a more cross-generation specific there, but same kind of query if there's a reason teens literally don't know how to turn off devices.
5. What the skibidi sigma is a 6 7 Mango?
I've seen it referenced around online. And unlike gen-alpha slang, which makes perfect sense, this one perplexes me and I'm not sure if I want to find out.
1. Yeah, its weird. I don't like normal crocs that much though anyway. I see that, but not extremely often, like y'know I see other colors of crocs too
2. I just think crocs aren't good I guess so the socks don't make me feel too much different about them
3. I don't know if I see eletrics more than standard, maybe equally? I'm not much of a fan of it personally. I think ultimately It depends on usage, if you're using an eletric bike to travel in the city and get places reliably it might be nice to have it a little faster and not get sweaty going places in the summer, but most kids are just using electric bikes/scooters for the sake of it I think. I haven't seen this all that much, but I don't go to public school, so that might be why
4. I have an Iphone 6, and there is a single button on the right (one of the sides) you hold it and a sliding power off button appears. I've never seen someone have trouble turning off their phones, but then again the general public does not turn off their phones ever, so I wouldn't be super surprised. Could be a new model thing? After all, If you can't turn it off you'll use it for longer. As for smartwatches, with minor exceptions, those can burn in hell
5. My friend group speaks English so I have no idea what that means to be honest

Nothich4ChanSeeHere-san, unusually aggressive for you. ;-)
My apologies, buddy. I take my brainrot seriously.
Glad you're delightfully busy. I know you mentioned work so guessing a job is part of that. And then schoolwork?
Schoolwork alongside endless clubs, musical activities, and sports. I quit my job last week, and while it was bittersweet to say goodbye to all those people I won't be missing the $10-an-hour double-shifts.
For myself, doing alright. Got a job while continuing the jobhunt overall. (Retail at the moment; want to get back to using my degree.) And it's pleasant with good coworkers.
That's neat. What was your degree?
Also been doing cooking and gardening. Plus some stuff at my parish.
Sweet. I've been growing lots of carrots and potatoes, alongside a handful of other things. It's nice to have complete trust in where your food comes from, if only for a select few items. Cooked anything fun or challenging recently?
Definitely a true sigma if you take brainrot serious, fr fr. :)
Cool with the clubs, music and sports. What instrument do you play? (Been a while since I've dusted off my trumpet, but used to be my thing.)
Got a degree in Computer Science. A fun field, but hard market right now.
Noice on that garden! I've never done carrots or potatoes. (Gotta have my stuff in pots due to HOA regs.) How have they been?
Probably nothing too challenging compared to my norm. But did make some meatballs using a bunch of fresh herbs the other day. And gonna do some lemon chicken with fresh rosemary at some point. (Also need to do another batch of chicken vesuvio with oregano.)

For #1 I feel like elementary/middle school is where the colors are dominant. (From what I've seen.)
Good to see another traditional biker. And hooray that there's at someone else who knows how to turn off the phone! I do wonder if there's any differences in the homeschool subculture or if there's also just differences in the areas we are.

Here. I'm in high school (albeit a dork who is as distanced from pop culture as is possible nowadays). Let's see if I can settle this.
1. Crocs are the thing right now -- they're the cool shoe brand.
2. Socks with Crocs? We're trying to be independent, man -- same as every kid...ever? And who cares if it's a social faux pas, as you put it? It is comfortable (until they get wet).
3. Dunno entirely, but they are fast. I'm a runner, so I don't use them at all, but it's true that it does require less exercise...welcome to the world of today.
4. Yes, we do know how to turn off our phones. Some of us, at least -- mine's been off for four days now. Other people...look, the world isn't giving them much hope right now. Don't want to sound all grim and depressed, but the online world is pretty neatly set up for them to do whatever they want.
5. I said I'm distanced from pop culture (I'm in high school and don't have social media) -- I really don't know, to tell you. You do know the 6'7 meme, right? (Took me several months before I got a friend to show me what it was) That plus mangoes, I guess.
For years, people believed that goldfish had a short, three-second memory, mostly due to the fact that...well, have you ever seen a goldfish? So, with that came a whole line of positive sayings along those lines -- "Be a goldfish" meaning in this sense to forget what happened and keep on going unfazed. Sadly, because humans are pretty much the inventors of incorrect beliefs, goldfish have recently been proven to have memories that are exceptionally good -- lasting back weeks or even months.

I have goldfish, and I can confidently say that they are both deeply intelligent and complete morons at the same time. They are capable of recognizing 1. Where the food comes from and 2. Who gives them food, so they swim to the top whenever someone goes where the food is or when my little sister (who feeds them) passes by. Yet they still struggle to understand the concept of walls
