It was 90% discounts, but I think 3 of the days were free monsters block, dice, and backgrounds. But all 3 were spread out in-between 10-day intervals.
I like the idea of the advent calendar, and, to everyone is disappointed that it's going to be discounts mostly, you should remember that if they just gave us free stuff for 24 days in a row they would be losing a lot of money and would less likely to be able to get people to purchase some of their more pricey items such as the jewelry or csplays. They likely will give us a few free options, but not a lot judging by the fact that we only got one free beyond option and a few cut-outs. They're a company and we didn't purchase this advent calendar, we're lucky we're getting what we do.
ah so only option is either 24 days of free stuff or zero?
2 my dms spent more money on beyond books alone in last 2 months than commision of this useless beholder cost, devs and wotc wouldn't be bancrupt if they spend few hours and introduce one small free compendium, or dice or border, they still printing and porting non free books regularly and still have a lot of new content to add, a lot of content to adjust to 5e (eg RHoD) if suddently all their creativity will dissapear
with prefix un, because comparing to digital magic, where you can obtain even secret lairs products for free we are getting scraps (that we already actually obtained because it's free for ages). And devs and wotc treating community exclusively like cash cow don't save them from criticism
its amazing all the 100% useless stuff they can come up with next year they should do a questionnaire as to what people want out of the calendar to make it more worth our time
yah
Almost 2 weeks in and not a single gift yet. This is worse than last year and it's coloring sheets!
Advent calendar?
More like an ADVERT calendar, am I right?
Haha, I'm clever.
I would just like to thank everyone for the free stuff
(Wotc listen up)
WOTC once again showing that they cannot be trusted with this type of stuff. Wotc is saying: what, we thought discounts are awesome
Oooh these are heccin snazzy! Not the calendar nonsense of course but the things other people have posted here.
I feel the same, last year there were at least some free coloring pages and activities that you could print out and yes even a race was free. This year it feels more like corporate bs trying to get people to buy things they normally wouldn't.

What race was it? I don't think I saw it.
(not) EDIT 8: December 11th, 2023: Discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, discounts, and a free thing. FOR A GAME I DON'T EVEN PLAY...
ugh
EDIT 9: December 12, 2023: Oh boy! More discounts! And I don't even use grid combat like that!
EDIT 10: December 13, 2023: The opening to Mount Celestia opens as all manner of beautiful things stream out, proclaiming the day that D&DBeyond didn't have a discount. Everyone else tried to enjoy the one non-greedy thing they had left, as they savored the piece of sheet music.
D&DBeyond has a theme song? I mean, I always keep the volume at zero...
EDIT 11: December 14, 2023: At this point, I don't care about this discount.
EDIT 12: December 18, 2023: First minis I'm never going to buy, shirts I'm never going to wear, and something for a game that I'm probably never going to play. Wonderful.
EDIT 13: December 19, 2023: I have a perfectly functioning toaster.
EDIT 14: December 20, 2023: I'll admit, the mimic bag is pretty cool, but I don't want a discount. I want a gift, and that does not mean discount on a cool bag/toaster/coffee or whatever and I'm fine if the gift isn't the mimic bag.
EDIT 15: December 21, 2023: The beholder ornament is cool. Such a shame it's the first thing I want.
EDIT 16: December 22, 2023: I'm pretty sure this was on last year's advent calender. But I DON'T KNOW, so don't quote me on this.
EDIT 17: December 15, 2023: Bruh.
Well the one gift has been decent, just wish they had some gifts for D&D Beyond.
Agreed, the comments about how shit this is has been the best part so far!
I feel bad for the team that has to do this instead of making someone people would enjoy (and maybe actually pay for!)
Yes. Yes you are.
Today's advent gift is this awesome fortune teller inspired by the deck of many things, which for some weird reason wasn't included in the official advent calendar despite having been clearly designed for it.
