D&D Beyond is excited to announce the release of the all-new, consolidated D&D Beyond App! Gone are the days of two separate apps: we’ve combined the power of the D&D Beyond toolset with new mobile features to make your Dungeons & Dragons 5th-edition games more accessible and more fun. The app is available to download for free on iOS and Android.
The toolset makes it easier to reference D&D content, with features ranging from a guided character creation, dynamic character sheets and spell management, plus the ability to search and bookmark books in your library. The app is the perfect mobile solution for every D&D player — whether you’re a new player, a veteran campaigner, or legendary Dungeon Master.
Play with Advantage
Mobile character creation is easier with the character builder tool walking you through every step of the character creation process. You’ll never have to enter a game without your character sheet again — access your characters online or offline and be ready for skill checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or whatever twists your DM throws at you. Manage your character's health, abilities, spells, and inventory.
Forgot your dice? Roll directly in the app with themed digital dice sets!
Dungeon Masters will enjoy the ability to easily access monster stat blocks and game rules in the D&D Beyond App. Bookmark your favorite monsters or frequently used rules, search spells, and gaze longingly over your backlog of characters you'd love to play (some day, maybe...).
What if I already own the Player App or Reader App?
Adventurers who have the D&D Beyond Player App will simply need to update the app to access the new tools! If you are using the D&D Beyond Reader App, you'll need to migrate over to the new app.
Seems pretty good, but it needs to have a light mode. Dark mode causes me serious eye strain and it seems to be the only option.
I've downloaded the app but all of my downloaded content doesn't show up on my account. Tells me to purchase entire books that I've purchased content already for. Granted I have not purchased full books but I've purchased over 200.00 worth of individual content from various books from dndbeyond.
The next step is a link between the App and roll20 or Foundry...
Why isnt there any options for accessing campaigns or dm content for campaigns? The app as usual is very limited on what it should provide not just players but also DMs.
Are there plans to integrate Character creation to the app?
I know its on the app but currently it puts you on the website.
Most likely, unless you buy the full book, or the compendium, they won't show in your library. Buying the individual items makes them usable in the character sheet.
I've only bought full books, but there is no introduction or cover gallery for Tales from the Yawning Portal.
Mine shows the covers for the individual adventures inside TFTYP., which then have to be downloaded as well.
So, do we need to uninstall the app we have now. Then install this one?
So portable you could use the app for LARPing.
Please add back in the functionality to install book files to external SD cards! I have incredibly limited memory on my phone as-is!
I like this update to the app.
Although I hope that the site also gets an update to sort books by wether you own them or not.
Because having to memorize it all is a pain.
Can we please keep the menu along the bottom at all times so we don’t have to back all the way out of our character to look something up? It doesn’t even remember which page of your character you were looking at so there are a lot of extra taps
Why i cant buy the discounted player's handbook from them app?
Do your custom dice work in the app? I haven't found a new ay to change my dice set...
It's great. Missing the possibility to track inspiration though :(
Been saying that practically since day 1, I start to believe it will never happen. Sad.
Fun fact: If you buy the Essentials Kit from a store near you, it gives you a physical 50% discount off the digital Player's Handbook. Multiclass with the 25% sale and you get a 75% discount! Isn't that neat? I've been saving my discount for a while but its paid off!
This is talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.
This is fantastic! Are there any plans for an SD card storage option for this app like there is for the current DDB Reader app?
