The Plea. Chase requests the party’s assistance, as the Guild has called on Caset to do something that would jeopardize the future the siblings have worked so hard for, and ignoring the indenture would place a target on both siblings. We Are Family. Chase considers characters bearing the We Are Family mark of prestige from Castle Greyhawk part of their patchwork family and will remind them of…

Each Dark Bargain is unique, and a character can enter into a given bargain only once. A character could be bound to multiple Dark Bargains at one time, but each one only once.

CN male (he/him) human (Oeridian/Flan) Chase is broad-shouldered for a teen, with a streak of stubbornness that sometimes borders on recklessness. His skin is a warm, medium-brown, and his dark hair is cropped short. His clothes are ragged but well-mended, and he carries a battered shortsword as if for comfort as much as protection. Quick to pick a fight when cornered, he’s fiercely loyal to…

N (they/them) human The mysterious and discreet Onaivu is a member of the Thieves’ Guild. They hide in the shadows and ply their trade in the most unexpected places, even those right under your nose. Who they are and what they are aren’t important at all, unless they know something about you that you don’t want the rest of the world to know. They keep their face covered beneath a cowl; no one…

When the fight starts, if there’s a character in the party who either wields a two-handed weapon or is capable of doing so effectively, Aeldwyn tosses Breath-Taker to them. Breath-Taker is a Vicious Greatsword that deals 4d6 Slashing damage on a hit. Otherwise, she’ll hang onto it, but she isn’t able to wield it. If you’re using a map and minis, place Aeldwyn somewhere in the midst of the…

Short On Time? If you’re running this adventure in a shorter time slot, you can skip either this encounter or the encounter in Part 3. Both of them communicate that Aeldwyn’s bloody past is catching up with her (and the characters). The rings help reinforce the armor against blows from swords and axes. Ring mail is inferior to chain mail, and it's usually worn only by those who can't afford better armor.

Some nefarious magic-users carry out forbidden necromantic rituals that sever their souls from their bodies to turn themselves into liches, masters of magic and undeath. With their souls preserved in hidden relics, liches puppet their own corpses as they pursue ambitions free from mortal bonds. Liches possess exceptional cunning and magical prowess, and they use their unnatural immortality to…

In this encounter, the characters come across the scene of a bandit attack on a merchant’s caravan. The scene, however, is partially staged. The supposed survivors the characters encounter are bandits hoping to trick and capture them.

A Measure of Debt. If the party played A Measure of Debt and did not turn the gems over to Onaivu, or if the party failed, Chase does everything in his power to avoid speaking with them, clearly frustrated. If pressed too much, he will excuse himself from his shift as tears begin to well. We Are Family. Chase considers characters bearing the We Are Family mark of prestige part of his patchwork…
