Under Dhakaani tradition, the golin’dar—goblins—are traditionally laborers and artisans. While the guul’dar and ghaal’dar train for war, the golin’dar maintain the hearth. But there is a force that stands outside this tradition, lurking in the shadows of the Dhakaani Empire. These are the Khesh’dar—the Silent Folk—golin’dar who use their speed and cunning as spies, scouts, and assassins. While…
Upper Central is defined by wealth and prestige and heavily patrolled by both the Sharn Watch and private security agents, so crime there leans more toward elaborate heists than back-alley muggings. Lucrative targets such as the Kundarak Bank of Sharn (with its supposedly impenetrable storage facility called the Vaults) and Aurora Gallery (a magic item auction house) remain far beyond the reach…
Depending on what levels of the City of Towers an inquisitive agency focuses on, its members might get involved in very different sorts of investigations. Lower Sharn means poor clients and lawless streets. Middle Sharn means merchant rivalries and better pay. Upper Sharn means uncovering the secrets hidden behind the veneer of respectability. See the “ Sharn Neighborhoods ” section later in this…
As the Kapaa’vola spread and the Empire of Dhakaan quickly unraveled, many of its greatest leaders sealed their followers in deep vaults. Each of these units took responsibility for preserving one of the pillars of the empire. Together, they called themselves the Kech Dhakaan —the Keepers of the Empire. The name of each individual clan was given based on their chosen ideal; thus the Kech Volaar…

When the characters interact with Iskari, a character can take the Influence action to try to convince him that they know about his scam and will inform Szass Tam unless Iskari cooperates. The character then makes a Charisma (Persuasion) check. The DC of that check depends on how many pieces of evidence the characters have when they confront Iskari, as noted in the Blackmailing Iskari table.…
If the characters want to convince Iskari to work against Szass Tam, they must secure one or more pieces of evidence that prove Iskari has stolen from the lich. The characters recognize when something they find is evidence. They can find four pieces of evidence, which are in the following areas:
Agents of House Phiarlan and House Thuranni, who are primarily elves, combine stealth and espionage with mastery of the performing arts—and dragonmarked heirs augment those skills with shadow magic. When the fight starts, if there’s a character in the party who either wields a two-handed weapon or is capable of doing so effectively, Aeldwyn tosses Breath-Taker to them. Breath-Taker is a Vicious Greatsword that deals 4d6 Slashing damage on a hit. Otherwise, she’ll hang onto it, but she isn’t able to wield it. If you’re using a map and minis, place Aeldwyn somewhere in the midst of the…
