Then you won't ever understand. And the source is the numerous posts by moderators and staff on the large number of complaints about this and similar topics.
I won't ever understand because you are incapable of explanation, or because you are talking out your butt? As to your source being all over this site, it seems rather simple for you to point out some instance to back up your claim. I've read and posted in threads dealing with this issue, and I can't seem to find anything that supports your position.
Never fear, we are back from PAX and hitting the ground running. I can confirm that I, personally, am now working on additional Homebrew features and will be my primary focus until we get the new types (Backgrounds, Feats, Races, and Sub-classes) released. In the midst of that work, we will also be tackling the issue raised in this thread. The wait won't be much longer.
BadEye will be sharing more details as we get closer to releasing features.

This is freakin' wonderful news! Thanks for the update! Unrelated: I clicked the up-arrow to like your post, went back to re-read the entire threat in case there was some chance I actually missed something that Tarnega was getting at (which, of course, there was nothing I missed as I have been following this issue for a while), and I couldn't remember whether I had liked your post. So I liked it again. The arrow didn't change to an x, so I liked again. Is that a bug?

This is great news. I'm using a homebrew magic item for my Ritual Caster spells, and they seem to be the best way right now to work around the lack of other kinds of homewbrew types.

Yes, it's a bug. When I joined, it was working fine. One day, a little while back, it started working again, but stopped the next morning.

Just chiming in here that I'm really excited by Staff's response here. Like a lot of people, I really want to be able to homebrew with non-SRD monsters for personal use--I'm generally just scaling difficulty up or down, but not having to copy-paste everything over would be amazing. I'd definitely state that I'm not really interested in the ability to share it with people who own the base content--I don't imagine they're particularly interested in "Yuan-Ti Malison, but CR 6", but it would be super nice to speed up my ability to churn out these weird monsters for my players.
We were discussing just today on how to implement this. The main issue is, as listed above, that you add non SRD data to a homebrew item and then try to publish it.
The approach we're considering would be to not let you publish a homebrew item if it has non SRD material, thus restricting it to only ever be private, but sharable in your campaigns.
I would definitely vote for this option. My main use of the homebrew feature is to customize NPC's and creatures for my campaign, and the ability to build off existing templates makes using DnD Beyond a HUGE time saver for this purpose. Being blocked from using so many monsters REALLY limits the utility of the template feature - especially when building NPC's.
Also, the capability to duplicate or use one of my own Homebrew creations would be a HUGE benefit for creating variants.
All that said, though - this tool is really powerful and is truly a great help creating content. Thanks!
I'm posting here since this thread is already open and the discussion is relevant.
I'm creating subclasses now and I get the notification that I can't publish my subclasses if they spells that are not SRD.
This is just sad. I get it that you'll have to buy XGE to enjoy the content but why block it entirely? Isn't it possible to show the subclass in homebrew, and if someone doesn't have the required content, just tease them with it, show them a link to the marketplace instead of the spell, and not let them use the subclass? It's too bad that paying users won't be able to enjoy the full content (I removed the spells and added explanations what to do instead, for people who want it).
Hartless explained here that the issue is that there is a real risk currently that including non SRD spells could break a character sheet is a player uses the homebrew element and doesn't have the needed content. Once the new character sheet is out, he anticipates that the block will eventually be removed (because the new sheet shouldn't have the same issues, if I've understood him correctly)
You should be able to add non-SRD/BR content to homebrew you create. However, doing so will prevent you from publishing it.
Also, you can't add spells that you have access to through a shared campaign. You have to own the content.
Thank you all for your contributions. This thread has aged and with new developments continuously in progress, a new thread should be opened to further address these concerns.
Thanks again for understanding

I will confirm that additional homebrew development is in active development now. I wouldn't be surprised to see some new features very soon :)

Just closing out this open thread. You can now add you homebrew spells and purchased spells you have access to to your homebrew magic items and feats.
Thanks!
