I'd love for there to be a lot more simple armor and equipment. The lack of stuff that comes up when I search for basic keywords like "sword" or "hide" is kind of strange. Even if it's really basic junky type stuff it would be nice if I could have it equip-able from the basic item database.
that is more of a 5th edition system problem rather than the character builders fault though since the designers kept it simple and in various places said in core books 'just pretend it is something else but use these statistics'
I would like to see some way to manage temporary increases in maximum hit point (as opposed to temporary hit points, which are something different), as well as the hit points of an Abjuration Wizard's Arcane Ward.

hmmmm, simpler than padded? Any thoughts or suggestions? maybe throw some examples at them for them to ponder over?

A player since the great Dawn War, I've seen every edition flash before my eyes. I've wandered the plateau of Mystara (before it was Mystara), had spiced elven tea with Dalamar, composed spells with Mordenkeinan, and walked the ruins of Myth Drannor with the great Elminster himself — though I believe he was a cat at the time —. The scrolls and books that I have read have filled me with intrigue and seeing all of the imaginative constructs that other people come up with give me great joy

This seems like something we could easily add via homebrewed content, if the toolset supported it. Right now, there's only "create a magic item"; it'd be nice to also have "create mundane item".
I was trying to make a half-elf (drow variant) and noticed there was no drop down to select Skill Versatility or Drow Magic. Is that forthcoming or should I only ever pick generic half-elf when I want Skill Versatility?

No, it seems to be a bug. I have reported it. Thanks.
When using the randomizer to create a druid, it has a disproportionate leaning towards Circle of the Land (this is because of the terrain options as part of the Circle Choice, not a seperate option).
The alternate ritual options for Spirit Seeker for Path of the Totem Warrior aren't presented as an option (from Uthgardt Tribe Totems sidebar in SCAG) and the descriptions of Elk and Tiger are also not found after you purchase SCAG

Not sure if this belongs here, but I was hoping there might be a way to export characters from the builder (not the PDF). like a character sharer. I make a really cool barbarian, or a character based off of a specific character, then I share it (like sharing homebrew) and then others can see it and add it (and edit their own versions). I am open to putting this in a different thread, I just wasn't sure where it belonged.
Minor request: I wanted to give a character a Silvered [weapon], but that's not an out-of-the-box option. I had to create a custom magic(?) item in order to have this specified.
Am I missing something obvious? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

This isn't currently possible.

For now you can click the + next to the weapon in the combat section and customize the name to say Silvered Dagger or whatnot.
Made a couple characters, and I think it would be nice if there was a way to parcel out equipment packs. So you click "Dungeoneer's Pack" and it adds, individually, all the items that come with it. It's quick and easy for character creation, but eventually I'm going to have to note that I've used all the candles in my Burglar's Kit, I'm out of the oil in my Diplomat's Pack, and the only way to do that will be to add each remaining pack item individually.
Heck, I'd even be down with "Dungeoneer's Pack (condensed)" and "Dungeoneer's Pack (itemized)", with the itemized version adding each item separately.

Serious changes to starting equipment are in the works and should be arriving any-day-now soon. Hopefully will address packs as well.
I am very new to this site so I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else, but are there going to be more subclass options? When I go into Character builder I only see Hunter under Ranger and Thief under Rogue but they are missing Beast Master and Assassin.
Is this just because they are testing/in Beta? or has it just not been completed yet?

Those "missing" subclasses are there, but not free. They aren't free here because they aren't free (legally, that is) anywhere else, with the possible exception of your local Public Library.

I think it is a good idea to have a spot to compile proficiencies- such as all languages a character has instead of having to search through all of the different traits, backgrounds and other areas on the page.
Perhaps a collapsable list under the proficiency tab sorted by weapons, armor and so forth.
I see, so I take that to mean that they want me to purchase the digital copies of PHB/DMG/SCAG/etc to be able to access this content? or does the monthly subscription unlock it? or do I need to get both?

They want you to purchase the digital copies. The subscriptions add very little, really; the $2.99 tier removes the character limit (without a subscription, you can only have 6 characters at a time in the character builder), removes ads, and lets you add other people's homebrew (translation: custom) stuff to your collection; the $5.99 tier does all that and lets you enable content sharing in up to 3 campaigns at a time (a moderator can tell you more about content sharing).

You do not need a subscription, but you do need to purchase the source books. OR the individual races/classes etc. you need. If you do the latter (for example, I bought the Storm Sorceror from SCAG for $1.99, but not all of SCAG), the money you spend on individual purchases from a source reduce the cost of the source if you purchase it later. (So SCAG is now priced at $28 for me rather than $29.99)
