Hi! I just leveled up my Aberrant Mind Sorcerer from level 2 to level 3. If I'm understanding the PHB right (sorry, newish player, here 😅), at level 3, I should now have:
1st level spells: 4
2nd level spells: 2
It's either that or I should have:
1st level spell slots: 4
2nd level spell slots: 2
I'm not quite sure which of the above is correct. Either way, I think I'm supposed be able to learn at least one new spell, but D&D Beyond isn't letting me learn any. I can't seem to figure out why, and was hoping someone else might know.
As Sorcerer level 3, you know 4 spells in addition to your Psionic spells. The manage spells sidebar or the character builder screen should let you learn 1 new spell. It can be a level 1 spell or a level 2 spell. Technically you can unlearn one of the 3 spells you've already learned and learn a new level 1 or level 2 spell as well.
You should have 4 level 1 spell slots and 2 level 2 spell slots, which looks correct on your character sheet.
Thanks for looking into this! Appreciate the help :).
I've tried using the manage spells sidebar, but it doesn't let me learn a new spell. The "Learn" button is grayed out/inactive for all spells. I also tried going to Manage Character & Levels > Class > Spells to add spells, but it won't let me do it from there either. I get the same behavior—all the "Learn" buttons next to spells are inactive.

If you’re only looking at cantrips then they will all be greyed out because you’ve hit your current limit on cantrips. Change the filter to 2nd level spells and you should be able to learn one.
Thanks! Yeah, I've tried the sorting options and I'm still not able to add any 1st or 2nd level spells.
I did have to create a homebrew subclass in order to use the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer's Psionic Spells features (swapping one subclass spell for another on the Wizard or Warlock spell tables). I'm wondering if I did something wrong when I edited the subclass spells, and for some reason the spell I swapped in is counting against my total. I'll have to dig into it.
I did have my swapped-in spell set as a known spell. Thank you! I totally misunderstood the meaning of that setting when I swapped in the spell.
I changed the swapped-in spell to "No" for "Count as Known," and I verified that the other spells granted by the subclass have the same setting. However, it still won't let me learn a new spell. Sorry to keep bothering you, but do you have any other advice on next steps?

You did that for all 11 spells Aberrant Mind gives? If they are all set to No, we need to dive deeper into this issue. Got a campaign one of us can join to try this subclass out?
After a ou reset the spells, did you remember to re-save the entire subclass using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information? If not, do that. Then it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the character sheet.
It does not look like this is an issue with your homebrew subclass as creating a blank character with it at level 3 gives the correct number of spells.
Take a screenshot of your character's Add Spells section.
Hm, well it's great to know the subclass is working right for others! Thanks so much for checking it.
Here's a screenshot of my Add Spells section.
That screenshot shows 4 spells known, which is correct. The character sheet link in your initial post still only shows 3 sorcerer spells that I can see between level 1 and level 2 spells (that are not the psionic spells). Something isn't adding up. Is https://ddb.ac/characters/91525920/vpIGL7 still the link to the character sheet in question?

Yep, that's still the correct link. I guess it was a problem with the server cache, because IamSposta's suggestion of switching classes, refreshing the page, then switching back to my homebrew subclass worked.
Thank you so much for all your testing and help, Mairondil 🙏✨✨✨! Really, really appreciate the time and attention you spent to help me with this. Now I'm ready to start my DM's new homebrew campaign with my group on Sunday!

Ahh. In that case make sure that “Counts as Known” is set to “No” for all of those spells.

It probably either needed to go through a caching cycle, or their character is stuck on an old data cache is all.

Try swapping subclasses, refreshing the page, and then swapping back. That’ll force the server’s cache to update to the newest iteration.
