My battlerager does well in melee for obvious reasons, but he has been downed several times due to various non dex save spells. I am looking for ways to boost my spell saves or gain advantage on them. I recently came into a large sum of gold in my game so something under 30,000gp would be best.

Do you dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?
Immediately and without having pertinent details about your character, three magical items come to mind directly. Keep in mind resistance to damage and/or advanage against spells are massive benefits. Spellguard Shield, Mantle of Spell Resistance, Ring of Spell Turning
Ye, they're not cheap but they're a good leaping off point or a goal to work towards. IIRC according to the Sane Magical Price guide (I cannot find my link otherwise I would send) the Mantle is around 30,000 gp, and so is the Ring. The Spellguard Shield is 50,000 gp.
Really though, they're worth every piece of currency. I took the Spellguard Shield on my Yuan-Ti Pureblood Padlock for a 20th level one-shot, and it exponentially increased my ability to tank practically everything because of its synergy with the build I used. Granted they're out of your price range at the moment, they're certainly staples for what you're trying to achieve imvho.

I've looked into each of those and each is roughly 50,000gp each. For right now they are out of my price range.

Mantle should be significantly cheaper than the other two

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
