TL;DR - They forgot the prophecy they were given by the fortuneteller of Savras because they were really baked but they do remember that they must always pass it to the left and they must smoke at least three bowls or else all is doomed! They are slow when speaking, often in their own head or inside their own shell scribbling away on scraps of paper almost every odd thing they think about worried that it might be part of their forgotten prophecy. Somewhat cowardly unless directly threatened they tend to hide in their shell during combat to preserve the chill by sending good vibes to others either through divine spellcraft or messaging them with encouraging words.
Description: Their shell is divided into the upper or dorsal carapace, and the lower, ventral carapace or plastron. The upper carapace consists of the vertebral scutes, which form the central, elevated portion; pleural scutes that are located around the vertebral scutes; and then the marginal scutes around the edge of the carapace. The rear marginal scutes are notched. The scutes are bony keratinous elements. The carapace is oval and flattened and has a weak keel. It has a dark green background with light and dark, highly variable markings. The plastron is a light yellow with dark, paired, irregular markings in the centre of most scutes. The plastron is highly variable in pattern. Their head, legs, and tail are green with fine, irregular, yellow lines. The whole shell is covered in these stripes and markings that aid in camouflaging an individual. Their partially webbed feet that help them to swim and that can be withdrawn inside the carapace along with the head and tail. The red stripe on each side of the head is distinguished, as the stripe is located behind the eyes, where their (external) ears would be. They do not have a visible outer ear or an external auditory canal; instead, it relies on a middle ear entirely covered by a cartilaginous tympanic disc. Slung over their shell is a belt attached to which is a shield, a components pouch, another pouch, and a sack.
Backstory: Slider was born into a small community of druids whose neighborhood was secluded by swamps and marshes. Being somewhat more adventurous than his compatriots he traveled into the nearby settlement operated by a plethora of other races completely unfamiliar to him. It was here that he met a fortune teller who told him of his destiny as they smoked a bowl of herbs the Tortle was completely unfamiliar but enamored with. Taking a fondness to him the fortune teller of Savras trained him in the way of her priesthood by smoking him out daily until he was ready to pursue his destiny. Utterly convinced by her superstitions and his "destiny" now beckoning he proceeded out into the world to become an adventurer!
Personality: I often get lost in my own thoughts and contemplation, becoming oblivious to my surroundings because I am working on a grand philosophical theory about how everything that happens to me is connected to a grand, cosmic plan.
Ideal: Rule of Three. Everything in the multiverse happens in threes. I see the “rule of three” everywhere. (Lawful)
Bond: I suffer awful visions of a coming disaster and will do anything to prevent it.
Flaw: When given the choice of going left or right, I always go left.

And with that I now have a level 1-20 templated character for each class in 2024 I can use for a one shot or for people just drop in to play a game without a character. For those interested here are links to the other builds.
Since my main is an Alchemist, I didn't build one for the Artificer. I cannot wait for the UA to complete but hope they change Experimental Elixir. I suppose having one nearly completely useless ability isn't terrible.
