TL;DR - Hans Sloane does not care about anyone else's culture beyond the esteem he is going to gain once he steals a part of it to put in a museum. He is willing to enslave, trick, and murder others to get what he wants. It really doesn't matter just so long as the Kingdom of Cormyr can have a collection that outpaces those found in Silverymoon and Waterdeep. He has a pompous Irish accent that is borderline British and has a way of putting people down in the politest way possible, so much so that at times it can take others a good minute or more to realize that they were just grossly insulted. When drunk and in private he is fond of making off-color jokes about other cultures but in public he attempts to always appear as an advocate for diversity. He is a royal p#$@&! He is chaotic neutral because he only cares for the law when it is in his favor and while he himself is pretty darn evil he has the best intentions ie creating the largest and best public museum in all of Faerun for the Kingdom of Cormyr. Evil but for a good reason.
Backstory: Sloane was born into a Iriaeben family in a village suburb of Iriaebor on the south-western shores of a river feeding into the Tunlands. Hans Sloane was the seventh and last child of Alexander Sloane who died when Hans was six years old. Alexander Sloane was a collector general of taxes for the County and was an agent for Lord Eradabus. The Sloane children, including Hans, were taken up by the Eradabus family and had much of their early tuition conducted within the High Tower library. Out of Alexander's sons, only three reached adulthood: Hans, William, and James. The graveyards of Henry and John Sloane can be found in Iriaeben parish courtyard; both brothers died in their childhood. As a youth, Sloane collected objects of natural history and other curiosities. This led him to the study of medicine, which he did in Cormyr, where he studied botany, materia medica, surgery and pharmacy. His collecting habits made him useful to John Ray and Robert Boyle. After four years in Cormyr he travelled through Tethyr, spending some time at Darromar and Zazesspur, and stayed long enough at the University of Orange-Riatavin to take his MD degree there; he was hired as an assistant to prominent physician Thomas Sydenham who gave the young man valuable introductions to practice. He returned to Cormyr with a considerable collection of plants and other curiosities, of which the former were sent to Ray and utilized by him for his History of Plants. For his efforts and in no small part thanks to the donation of the collection he acquired during his tenure as a scholastic in academia he was provided charter to form or join an adventuring party to locate more pieces and expand a fledging exhibition into a Royal Museum.
Appearance: Before you is a slightly out of shape human male with brown hair, dark brown eyes, and a ruddy complexation. They are wearing common traveling clothes despite their healthy skin and plumpness revealing their well-to-do lifestyle prior becoming an adventurer.
Personality: I would risk life and limb to discover a new culture or unravel the secrets of a dead one and I can’t be sure who I’ve swindled, cheated, or defeated in my search, so I keep a low profile in public because I have no qualms about stealing even from the dead.
Ideal: Preservation. That artifact belongs in a museum. (Good)
Bond: I won’t sell an art object or other treasure that has historical significance or is one of a kind because I hope to bring prestige to a library, a museum, or a university.
Flaw: I am secretly (or not so secretly) convinced of the superiority of my own culture over that of all others.

Yes, Sir Hans Sloane did have an interesting life. He discovered Chocolate Milk you know?
Well, actually he stole the recipe from the Jamaicans and claimed it as his own after enslaving a bunch of them and putting their relics in the British Museum.
So, I believe the character checks out.
Lawlz!
