Something being a bundle in an online marketplace does not automatically imply a discount. A bundle refers to a group of products or services that are sold together as a single combined unit. While many retailers use bundles as a way to offer a discount and move more products, it's not a rule that a bundle must be discounted.
Here's how it works:
Discounted Bundles: These are typically used as a promotional strategy, where the combined price of the bundled items is less than the total of their individual prices. This is often used to incentivize customers to purchase more items and can increase the perceived value of the offer.
Non-Discounted Bundles: Some bundles may not offer a discount on the combined items. Instead, they may be grouped together for convenience, to complement each other, or to encourage the purchase of related items. For example, a camera might be bundled with a lens and a bag. The price of the bundle might be the same as buying each item separately, but the convenience of getting everything at once can be attractive to customers.

Yeah, I noticed this as well. At first I was tempted to buy all three of the new bundle at once. But after doing the math, it’s the exact same as if I spread out my purchases. Easier on the wallet for a one time deal. Kind of annoying though. I mean, heck, at least throw in another $40 off or something.
Something to note: While the digital bundle isn't cheaper, it's no more expensive either. And if you're after both digital and physical, there is at least a discount for that bundle.

I went to pre order the digital bundle thinking there’s probably a discount for preordering all three books.
What Bundle actually means in this case is that they just add all three books to my cart at the regular price.

My confidence in the franchise continues to diminish.

so the digital bundle is currently *more expensive* than individually purchasing the books? that seems off.
Your math is off. The books are $29.99 each. There are 3 books. $29.99 x 3 = $89.97. The bundle is $89.97.
That's not more expensive.
Looks like the above discount in that screenshot was temporary. I don't seem them anymore.
Probably was the legendary bundle discount
My mistake. That's correct. The other point still stands.
