No its magic armor that is +1 so AC (16) armor, +2 shield 0 for fighting style.
No, nonmagical Breastplate is AC 14. Yours is 15, which includes the +1. If you tap the AC on your character sheet it will show you the exact same thing that the picture Stormknight included displays:
Currently the AC is overwritten to 20 because dnd beyond is not picking up the +1 for the fighting style. Without that it goes to 19 but it should be 20.

While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC."
You are not wearing armor. Which is why you have your unarmored bonus of +4.
Thank you. The character is currently wearing a leather armor and i guess the confusion may have come from that the unarmored defense is still on the AC. So the thought was the +1 from the defense would just be added on top.

I can confirm with my own testing that DDB is using the unarmored defense AC calculation (which is correctly not including the Defense Fighting Style bonus), even though it should not be allowed when armor is equipped even if unarmored is the highest AC calculation. While that's a bug, JPWalker, please note that your unarmored AC w/the +1 shield is 19 due to +4 CON, while your AC with leather armor, +1 shield, and Defense Fighting Style would be only 15. Either way, you shouldn't have 20 AC. You may want to try a different Fighting Style and go without the leather armor to remove the confusion.
My first level paladin had chain mail and armor class listed as 16. I leveled up to 2nd and selected fighting style:defense. After all was said and done, my AC remained at 16. I think it should have gone to 17. Oh, and when I click on my AC on my character sheet, nothing happens. The AC breakdown popup sure sounds nice, but I don't seem to have it.

I dont get this bonus on my Charactersheet.
Very good point Mr Adelthorne.
Please post a link to your character sheet so someone can look into it for you.

It works fine for my characters.
Please provide a link to your character sheet and a moderator or staff member can take a look.
edit: if you click on the AC box of the character sheet, it will show you the breakdown of how the character's AC is calculated.

According to this it is working: 15 AC from the armor, +2 from a Shield, +1 from your Fighting Style.

Is still still an issue or has this been fixed? I have the same problem. Fighting style defense is not applied to AC.

Awesome response @naruhoodie. Thank you so much!
Feedback is very welcome. I will change the fighting style.

That’s a link for roll20, not D&D Beyond. You should probably take it up with them.
