I cannot find an explanation D&D Beyond explaining what "Views" and "Adds" mean on the various homebrew content.
Views Does this represent the number of times anyone has opened it, including repeats by the same user? Or does it count views by unique user?
Adds Does this represent the number times users have added it to one of their characters, including repeats by the same user? Or does it count does it count each user only once, regardless of how times they have used it? Or something else??
If anyone knows where this is located, please point me to it. If it's not explained anywhere, perhaps it should be...
No, this means that someone has added that particular homebrew element to their collection, by using the ADD TO COLLECTION button on the page for that homebrew. It's analogous to, "number of users who are using this homebrew for their game"
Adding public homebrew in this manner requires a Hero tier subscription, or Master tier subscription, which is why I used the phrase, "subscribed" in my post above.
probably a dumb question but where can I find the amount of views/adds one of my home brew items have. I can see for previous versions but not to current version
okay so i made a homebrew item on the creation page. want to add that item to a player of mine. but it doesn't come up when i look for it under the "equipment" tab on his page. does he have to have a subscription to add it ? or do i have to submit it ? i have a master subscription but am not sure if it is shared with him or not.
sorry, took a minute to understand the "necro" comment from Davedamon. Post has been redone as a new thread and with helpful answers, resolved.. Thanks for the heads up, even though not directed at me.
So I edited one of my homebrew subraces, and republished it after "creating a new version", but now my homebrew race has like 7 different subraces when there's only supposed to be 2. I don't want to have to restart and do it all over, but is there any other way to fix this? (side note: every time I created a new version, the number of adds would go up)

Views = number of unique accounts that have viewed this piece of homebrew (as in clicked to open the page with it on).
Adds = number of unique accounts that are currently subscribed to this homebrew.

What do you mean, "subscribed to this homebrew?" Does it mean someone is following this particular homebrew creator's collection?

Thank you! I created/posted a "Demonic Nun" yesterday and people are adding it to their collections - so - yay! Just in time for Halloween! =)
Ah, that would be this Demonic Nun then?
Looks cool - nice work there. :)

Please don't necro threads that have been inactive for over a year, this would be better suited for a new thread, per the forum rules.
To answer your question, you can see views and adds on your 'My Homebrew Creations' page listing everything you've made

Where do you see them in general? I’m on mobile on the website and I can’t seem to find where the views or adds are ;-;
