So as a DM, one thing that has always been an issue is doling out treasure. Idk if I'm giving too much, if that magic item is too powerful, etc. my thought is make an item section to be sorted by level? Or maybe make a section for DMs that allow you to add in encounters, random treasure drop, and that kind of stuff.
On top of consolidating the variations on the magic items (see: "Armor of..." and a "[Insert Weapon +1/2/3]"), I think the ability to exclude terms from the search would be really useful. That way, if I want to look at rare armors, but not armors of poison resistance or whatever, then I can cut down on my results. I'm no search engine guru, so this may be possible and I just don't know how. Anything I tried didn't work.
What could be added to this, could be a way for DM's to create their weapons (i.e. dragon bone greataxe with poison damage.) I realize this could also be in the Homebrew section. Also 5e should really pull some items from 3.5e. Everburning Torch... I find my self going back and pulling a lot of items that need to be transferred up. Plus VALUES!!!
I'd also like to throw in my opinion that I don't want magic items to have prices listed. I very much like 5e's design that you can't just walk into Ye Olde Magic Shoppe and pick up a +2 longsword. Having prices might give my players very much the wrong idea.
I understand that some campaigns/groups dislike magic markets, however some people enjoy them. As long as the prices are listed as a variant option, it shouldn't be an issue as far as players getting the wrong idea, especially if it's listed with some kind of "Variant" tag on it.
So, just include the values listed on page 135 of the DMG? Anything more than that would be outstripping even the optional rules in the rules handbooks and I don't think that's the intent of D&D Beyond, correct me if I'm wrong.
You're right that creating prices is outside the scope of Beyond, I was responding to the idea that there shouldn't be a magic shop and that players might get the wrong idea if prices were included at some point for items. Sorry for the confusion there.
A price field that can be modified by a DM would be what I would like to see in the items list on Beyond. It's an option for those of us who like prices and it's future proofing in the off chance that an official price guide is released. I like your idea of having the possibility of making the field into a range of the DM wanted to use that instead of just a specific price.
A more useful price range for magic items is what I would like from WOTC. The table in the DMG is not helpful - a rare item is listed as 500gp - 5,000gp and a very rare item is 5,000gp - 50,000gp. That's a gigantic range, to the point that it's almost not worth having in there. Beyond magic shops, I think a better price range is useful for DMs trying to get a sense of the value of the treasure they're handing out.
Adding to some ideas, it would be nice if a different DMs could add Beyound users and define certain profiles for them so things like prices could be set and a user could select the profile for the specific DM/campaign they are doing. With the profiles the users could then keep lists of monsters they've seen in that campaign with that DM along with tying it to the character they are using, items, spell tracking and any custom changes a DM may have made to items, monsters, etc.
It would be nice to have some kind of way to clean things up A bit maybe sub categories in some items like weapons < slashing or armor < robes. Or possible clean up A lot of basic multiples like axe +1 +2 +3, all the axes could be on one page that you go to it gives stats for +1 scroll down for +2 and +3 or offers links to +2 and +3 on the page.
The other thing I would like to see is instead of just page numbers I would like to be able to jump to a letter, so let's say I wanted to find dagger +2, I would like to be able to jump to "D" instead of guessing at where it might be in the pages.
Basically I'm lazy and bad at spelling, i would much rather use the index instead of search but as things stand for most categories you have to use search or you will never find what you want

I would like to say, a suggested price isn't a bad thing as long as it's clear that a dm does not have to follow it and by no means can a player come up like "but it shoes it as this price!". So basicly have the price with a disclaimer something like "suggested price 4,000 gold ( this is only a suggestion, dms may adjust this as they see fit and players may not use this price to challenge what a dm says)" or have a like * next to suggested price that links to something like that
as this has not been addressed in the core rules themselves as of yet that i have found what about the size category and damage of a weapon as well as any possible penalties for wielding a weapon a size category above or below the creatures size. ie. i have a character in a game who wields a bastard sword recovered from a frost giant as the rules currently go i can wield this weapon because my class allows me to , there is no size penalties and the damage i found through using the stats from the monsters stats which is 4d6 so being able to set the weapons size as well would be a great help i think
Ruin. All forms of wealth that you carry or own, other than magic items, are lost to you. Portable property vanishes. Businesses, buildings, and land you own are lost in a way that alters reality the least. Any documentation that proves you should own something lost to this card also disappears.
Text in red at the end of the Ruin card from the Deck of Many Things seems to be off.
I didn't see it mentioned above, but I would love a feature that would let you create a list (or lists) of magic items. Would make it much easier for me to look up items I had interest in without having to remember all of the names. Additionally, would love to see more artifacts that are listed in the DMG.
I noticed, upon doing a search for the "Necklace of Adaptation", that it didn't exist. Apparently it's under [Tooltip Not Found]. Is this the right place to post typos like this?
This might be a shortcoming on my part, but clicking the +2 filter (and then selecting "filter results") doesn't display staff of the woodlands in the list, even though I believe it is a +2 staff.
I don't know if this has been said or not (or if i'm just being daft and can't find it), but it would be top if we had a mundane item/equipment section in the same place as the other items! Otherwise, the website and forums are damn beautiful! Keep up the good work guys!

Need a filter or sort for property. Finesse, light, two-handed, etc.

I'd really like to see an advanced search filter for items with class or race restrictions, like the Robe of the Archmagi or the Dwarven Thrower

DEUS VULT
Mundane Items should be added in Phase 2 once the Character Builder is online.

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
Is a treasure generator planned in the item section? Will it include spells/scrolls if so?
