Or do you mean the scroll bar at the top where you pick an item category?
I think he means Collapse all of the Adamantine Armor into one line, All of the Armor of Acid Resistance into one line, etc. (But be able to expand to see the sub types later.) At least, that is what I'd like.
Please include mundane items in the items section if you are planning to integrate the item section with the character creator this would save a lot of time
I too would like to include mundane items here. Alternatively, you could make two separate listings, one for "Magic Items" and one for "Equipment" (mundane items), both with the same look and that is searchable in much the same way. Also, if a mundane item listing could include the items from backgrounds (e.g. a pet mouse from the Urchin background), that would be great.
I'd also like to throw in my opinion that I don't want magic items to have prices listed. I very much like 5e's design that you can't just walk into Ye Olde Magic Shoppe and pick up a +2 longsword. Having prices might give my players very much the wrong idea.
I was just curios about having a kinda, price guide on items, weapons, and ect. Kind of like a starting point for newer DM's. (ex. potion of healing: price- avg. 50gp)
Just a quick note, I'm using the Beta along side the Princes of the Apocolypse which I'm currently DMing, to check its use as a tool. Elixir of Health isn't listed in the item table. Also, can't help but agree with the comments on assigning guideline values to the items.
The items list shows every base armor or weapon together with a specific magic property like resistance, adamantine, etc. this gives a clogged look to it. Perhaps would be best if these properties should be shown without every single base item option.
Item lists should be in order of common then uncommon and so on alphabetical order is not a good idea for this list it's a lot easier to find stuff by how common or rare it is then bye alphabetical order

The devs have confirmed that there will be standard items implemented - they're still working on many features of the site currently! :)

100% that will be there for all of the regular items from the PHB, when those get added. Not sure for magic items, as there's some discussion about whether that's good or not.

Currently the items/monsters/spells etc on this site are limited to the content found in the WotC DnD SRD. This doesn't include all of the content in the PHB/DMG etc. I understand this can be a little confusing or frustrating when items you are using aren't available on this site. Items from all content will be added in the future (but probably not during the beta test).

You're not alone in reporting this and the devs have confirmed that they are looking at some sort of roll-up mechanism to make the magic items easier to browse.

That's a great suggestion and I was thinking similar - the search results could do with a way of ordering items by their rarity (and then preferably alphabetically within that). :)
Definitely want mundane items added to the list, and the weights for all the items added, as the lack of that info renders the list kind of pointless if I have to check the book for something as important as that.
I upvoted Bear_of_Thunder's request, but want to reiterate it - a search tool for regular equipment would be great. I can try to drill down and find holy water or alchem. fire, but if I could type the name and click it would save time. Thanks!
And if poisons get an extensive entry on what/how, then I think these other fluid tools merit some explanatory text. (Especially since I can't remember what exactly h. water does....)

I understand that some campaigns/groups dislike magic markets, however some people enjoy them. As long as the prices are listed as a variant option, it shouldn't be an issue as far as players getting the wrong idea, especially if it's listed with some kind of "Variant" tag on it. This is no different then the variant rules for reinstating Attacks of Opportunity and Flanking into the game. I disliked all the micromanagement that went it handling AoOs, but some people love them so they gave an option to put it into the game. Hell, feats are a variant option. Most people use them, but they are still an option. That focus on having options that can be slotted in or out, to me, is the spirit of 5e.
All this being said, some type of price field on the items listings (or an option to put one in) would be great. As I'm thinking about it - could there be a filter based on what a DM selects to be available for sale in a specific campaign? I have no idea what the campaign manager is looking like, but that would be damn cool to have your players be able to turn on a filter to show them only the items that are currently available for sale.

So, just include the values listed on page 135 of the DMG? Anything more than that would be outstripping even the optional rules in the rules handbooks and I don't think that's the intent of D&D Beyond, correct me if I'm wrong.
Like when you hit F5?

SEARCH ABILITY
uponentering the main page I'm searching for guiding strike. I don't think it's a spell so a search feature would be great..

Your missing a materials list. As technically components for spells has a cost.
It would also help with crafting, even tho alot of crafting ends up being homebrew.
Ah. If I remember correctly, that is something they are looking into.

Could that be a thing?

I find it hard to simply browse items because you have things like adamantium armor scale mail, adamantium armor chain mail etc...
Perhaps you could add a filter to get rid off all the extra sub-catagories of an item so it is easier to browse
It's almost impossible to look through the armor just state the title of the armor and say ( Any armor type)
