I want to be able to see the subraces and variants at a glance, but in order for me to see them, I have to click a specific race. If it were set up more like the Backgrounds menu, where we can expand the individual races that way rather than needing to be taken to a specific race page to see all the subs/variants, that would be nice.

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
I have a request for your consideration when time allows: Currently when adding custom equipment to a character sheet the value in gp and weight in lbs are integers. It would be nice if we could use decimal points to cover things that are fractions of a gp or weight.

in D&D anything below 1 pound isn't worth calculating. don't know why you want to calculate half pounds.

It doesn’t matter what you know or don’t know. And if a half pound wasn’t worth calculating then why does a healing potion weigh a half pound? Hmm? They want to calculate it because it’s their game and they want to calculate it. ‘Nuff said.

first off... even coins weigth 1/50 of a pound and the game calculates it. heres the thing... the game do not calculates it until it has exactly a pound. so if you have 149 coins on you, reguardless of which one it is. then it will count only 2 pounds. its missing 1 coin to calculate the third one.
now this is how the game actually work.. his problem is... the game rounds down officially. there is no half measures. if there is not 1 full pound, its not calculated. same for potions, it takes 2 to be calculated.
now to your other point... he can play the way he wants, but asking the beyond team to allow him to bypass the official ruling is not what they are all about.

That isn’t bypassing the official ruling. It’s per lb, not per lb per item. If you have 16 different 1/2 lb items that doesn’t mean it weighs nothing. It’s still 8lbs. So I don’t give a fig, the system should be able to track portions of a pound. If you have 25sp & 25gp, that isn’t 0lbs, it’s still 1 pound:
Question: is the feature requests portal (ddb.ac/feature-requests) still being used by D&D Beyond Developers? There are many upvoted (and great) requests there that seem to have fallen by the wayside --- ex: containers, Concentration indicator, costly Material Component indicator for spells -- without any updates on what's planned or not. Having contributed there many times (either suggesting features or commenting on suggestions), would love to hear the feedback and requests there are still taken into account. @MellieDM ?

as far as we are concerned, it is still active, the only thing that was archived was the trello. that said, they are still on item number one, VTT. which is what will take a long time, a very long time. that said they have been working on other stuff as they did, like dice and character sheet and the encounter builder. all things needed in a VTT. so i'm sure once they have finished the one thing people most want, they'll be able to go further down that list.
but hey... look at the most requested thing and then look at how long it will take to accomplish it and you get your answers. though, they have gone forward on it quite a lot in the last 3 years.

I believe IamSposta is describing my request, but to clarify my initial request:
I can't post a screenshot, but to get to the page I am talking about: open a character sheet, go to equipment, manage equipment, add custom item. The fields for cost override and weight override are integers of gp and lbs. My group has a one time use item which currently we buy in bulk on the sheet as 1 gp at 3 lbs per 10, because of cost and lb limitations on custom items. We would like to track the items cost in fractions of a gp to represent sp or cp and .3 pounds each instead of manually adjusting to the pound as the items are used. I don't expect that it would be a high priority update to the code, just a nice to have.
VTT could be a strategic mistake. Being late to market with a 'same as' product when they could focus on being the best at what they already deliver could be ruinous. I get that the VTT might be seen as a complementary product. It may be tempting to think that this is a natural and obvious place to go for growth. However, the things that need to be built appear to be very different than the functionality they have built so far. Given it's a long road to get there, this will require a lot of focus and the consequence that we're seeing is that other core product features are not being built fast enough, well enough or, bugs and errors are being allowed to persist longer than would be ideal for a market leader in content delivery and management, which is where I thought they would find their niche. Building API's that say, one or more leading VTT providers can license and use to provide hooks to Beyond content would make a lot more sense (to me) as a step one. A partnership or joint venture along these lines would get them there a lot faster while allowing them to maintain focus on best in class content delivery and management (plus the tools to use it effectively). This is a very light analysis because I'm obviously not privy to their view of the market and I expect they have better knowledge of their competitors than I do. However, it's an option they might consider.
Please for the love of all that is holy. Let us do homebrew skills. I don't mean add a custom skill to a particular character sheet. I mean let us create a set of homebrew skills (for whatever campaign/setting/etcc) that players can pick from when creating their character. It is beyond frustrating that this simple thing is not implemented.
Maybe add something to your character selection screen that allows you the option to add one of your premade charactera to a new campaign, instead of having to tediously re-create it in the new campaign.
Edit:
Yes I understand that link is there, however this function doesnt work for any character the GM has already made themselves prior to creating a campaign.

This feature already exists. When you follow a campaign join link, there should be an option (you may have to scroll down) to select one of your characters and click a "Join with This Character" button.

DMs/GMs can do so as well: Click “Copy link” next to the invite link on the campaign page, and paste that link into the url of a browser window/tab, then hit return. You get the same page to choose options as players do.

I think you hit the nail on the head. With so many VTTs and more coming out, I think its going to be a tough market specially since many will have already invested in their VTT of choice. Personally I like to use the Beyond20 plugin for Chrome which links DNDBeyond with Roll20 (I think there are plugins for other browsers as well, but Roll20 likes Chrome in my experience). I am pretty happy with the combo. I heard Dungeon Fog (for maps and lighting) is planning on working with Fantasy Grounds to get their maps and lighting pulled in via API. Really I think the community is better served by that kind of partnership. It allows a company to try to be the best at a particular thing and like you said partner with others to make their VTT that much better.
Not sure if this has been brought up or not but i really wish there was a way to hide the curse aspect of a magic item until a player attunes to it. that way if i present an item to the players as a DM, they don't know its cursed till they decide to attune to it.
Dndbeyond will fail if they try to incorporate VTT. I really hope they aren't focusing a lot of resources toward this. They should stick to encounter building and encounter running at most. I can't imagine the digital dice were the moneymaker they thought they might be either.

The encounter builder, the combat tracker, and the dice roller are all parts that will eventually become a virtual game space.
