Here's what I've come up with for how this could work (copy-pasted from an earlier comment of mine):
I think that in general, there needs to be a way for the DM to add character creation restrictions - allowing certain options while disallowing others. Then maybe characters would be prevented from choosing them in the character builder when making a new character in that campaign, or a warning/error message could be displayed below a character that violates those restrictions. That would also cover things like "AL character validation" that's on the short-term roadmap - https://ddb.ac/feature-roadmap - in addition to your idea of allowing certain homebrew but disallowing others.
Though making a clean interface to manage all the options might be tricky, in terms of avoiding clutter. Perhaps there could be an interface for managing restrictions that only actually lists the restricted/disallowed options (unlike the compendium content sharing management options, which currently show every single book with a slider to enable or disable sharing), though the interface for choosing specific content to restrict would allow any official option or any homebrew option that the group has access to to be chosen as disallowed. And similarly, the interface could allow the DM to broadly "ban" all content from a specific book, or all homebrew, or all Eberron/Crit Role/Ravnica content, etc. (This could also account for things like encumbrance rules, requiring a certain ability score generation method, etc.)
Are there any plans to give us the ability to create languages to add in to home brew games?
That would be sweet, the world I DM has different languages in different countries. You can add custom languages directly in the character sheet though, FYI.

Is there any plan to be able to change the damage dice and/or type on homebrew weapons? That would be enormously helpful
I believe it’s on the loooong term roadmap. In the meantime, it at least sometimes works to choose a weapon that does the damage dice you want and change the damage type and other traits (like finesse, thrown, etc.)
Advanced Search by Class in the browse magic items list.
I find I always use this section to find magic items by tier for my players but I have to search through all the items for that tier, like uncommon, in order to find items that fit a specific class like wizard or a ranger.
Magic items don't 'fit' a specific class except for attunement requirements, which are fairly uncommon
Yes, correct so how else might this type of search be augmented? I'm looking for a solution, I already understand the reasons why it won't work based solely on class.
My searches are always related to something that would be used by that class. So if a search for items usable by or related to a ranger isn't possible then another way to perform that type of search. Such as all Archery related items (bow, arrows, quiver, items that augment ranged attacks).
Can there be a way to add in tool bonus to the character sheet or allow magic items that affect tool bonuses?
As a specific example, I have a 4th level Artificer with Tinker's Tools proficiency. He just gained a ring that adds +1 to his tinkers Tools checks. Now RAW of course, the associated ability score with this varies depending on what he is doing. However, the proficiency bonus he uses to build does change (i.e. +3 proficiency and then +1 from a magic item making it a +4 bonus). Currently, there isn't a streamlined way of doing this on DnDBeyond. The only current way to show this is by manually creating a custom skill on DnDBeyond, associating it with an ability score, and then adding in a +1 manual bonus.
What I would like is either a way to show just tinkers proficiency with a magical enhancement on the character sheet, or if we could deslave tool checks from ability score requirements so that if you put in a manual one, it shows up with just the proficiency bonus with any magical bonuses. And of course a way to create said magical bonuses on magic items.
Just wanted to propose an idea i thought of today.
Would it be possible to add in a DM screen for your campaign? What i mean by this, is there could be a button inside the campaign for the DM that opened a screen showing certain things from the characters people have inserted into that campaign. Passive scores, HP, AC and things of that nature.
I know you can see all as the DM by going to the characters, but having a summarized listing would definitely save some time at the table/PBP.

Trying to find a simple solution to complex problem when it comes to using DnDBeyond, but also enjoying physically owning the books and utilizing both to better optimize world building and character creation...
I have addressed this issue several times with my DnD group. The issue being that owning any of the physical books does not get you the accessibility on DnDBeyond with the books that you already own, having to...if one truly wishes to...purchase the book a second time on DnDBeyond to own a digital backup and gain access to those features within this wonderful site.
There have been many proposals within my group for ways that could allow people to get the best of both worlds, as being a fan of owning the books and reading through them is a favored pass time. The major issue is the fact that anyone who owns the books prior to this option even being considered or utilized would require owners of the physical books to still purchase the digital copies. That is something that seems rather impossible to address...so...
The proposal...
New printed publications of the books would also include a promo code within the book to obtain the digital version of the book on DnDBeyond for free. This way, individuals whom enjoy the books and also enjoy using the features on DnDBeyond, have the collective freedom to use features like character creation within DnDBeyond while still utilizing the books...as it is obviously much easier to build things here, but it is much more organic to pull a book out in session and read directly from the source material for rule checks or lore dives.
------------------
To be fair, I have not taken the opportunity to look through the forums to see if someone has addressed this issue before. However, being a middle class individual with only so much income to invest in furthering my knowledge and enjoyment of the game, I can personally express the slight frustration I feel when I attempt to test build characters within DnDBeyond and am hindered to...as example..****y choosing Champion subclass for Fighter or not really having any options to select Feats to add to my character, while I do own the physical books at home with ALL the info I need and am unfortunately limited to how much time I have to build such things for this glorious game...ergo the reason I enjoy using the online features for testing. Be aware...this was one example of many.
That being said, I am fully aware that I do not know the limitations or struggles of the tried and true workers that put so much effort into making DnD an extraordinary outlet for social interaction and gaming entertainment. I do, however, know the frustrations of people that would like to use both the physical options as well as the digital options...but are limited due to financial walls and barriers. Adding these promo codes and offering them as a feature to better optimize the format entirely, as well as, bring in possibly even more people with limited economical options seems like a no-brainer.
Regardless, it felt like an important matter to bring up. A matter that might very well open the fan base even more so. I appreciate the time anyone takes to read this and pardon my wording or grammar if it feels slightly repetitive or is worded a little subpar. I only stress this as, in the hearts of myself and the friends I interact with that enjoy DnD, seem to agree that this would be a good format for the physical books in the future. Let's be honest, there's no way to collectively give everyone promo codes who already own the books; that is a task nigh impossible to complete in a fashionable and low stress manner lol
Thank you for your time,

So, not sure whether or not this has been addressed in the thread yet. I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, but am willing to be wrong if anyone can point me in the right direction.
But I'm hoping and advocating for features to enable adding classes past level 20. In other words to multiclass past the level cap. I'm not asking WoTC to make new progression for existing classes, but just that the option to add additional class levels past 20 be made possible. I'm not there yet with my players, but the time will come when we have to and I'll have to move everything away from DDB because the functionality isn't supported.

What do you mean? i.e. As DM, you want to make it so characters in the campaign can't choose Healing Spirit? Or what?
Exactly that. I want to ban certain spells from the campaign.
Ah, okay. There are actually several related feature requests:

Hi,
I want to make items, or feats (if that has to be how it works on the site) to add extra channel divinity, rage, wild shape, etc. Class abilities.
Is there any way this could be incorporated into the bonus sections?
Thanks so much!

That's a great idea IMO. A summary page with with one character per row and you can choose which rows are shown and what columns of data are visible.
What this guy said!!!! do this!

Maybe someone has posted this already, but the ability to toggle more variant rules would be nice.
For example: Variant Rule for spell slots where you can use a pool of slots instead of slots per spell level, etc.
