Previously, if I wanted to get to Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, I could do Rules -> Adventures-> Dragon Heist, and I'm there. Now I have to open sources, scroll through a small thumbnail list until I find what I want in some random order, and click it.
Mobile is bad too, this is going to make quick access of content very annoying to deal with. I get that as content grows, the previous format was getting out of control, but without someway to basically pin content we want to the top of the list, I really dislike what is in place now.
They need to have a quick access section to make what you currently use more accessible. I just discovered the changes so I have yet to play around with it much.

This new bar is a nightmare. Not only did everything move they've merged multiple sections that they didn't need to. Game rules and adventures being separate was a good thing
And half the layout is empty on desktop!
and on mobile it straight up doesn't let me get to adventures without going through a slew of menus and pages....
I like the side bar from the previous layout so when I'm DMing I can quickly move through sections of the DMG for reference. Without the side bar, it's not very user friendly.
This is a huge thing that I can't believe got taken away!! The sidebar was extremely useful for navigating the source books, especially when you were pages and pages down a book.
Who could possibly have thought "take away the sidebar that lets you quickly navigate a chapter" was an IMPROVEMENT?
I can get past arbitrarily needing to scroll right a bunch to get to my adventures under the sources tab, but taking that sidebar away makes running an adventure from the compendium more of a hassle.
The sidebar being removed was a temporary issue the team is addressing. Some page migrations are in progress that could mean temporary display issues, especially for compendium sources. Things should return to normal within the hour. Thank you all for your feedback and patience!
The Sources tab on the menu really needs changing. You've combined rules and adventures, and they are not even in a logical order that I can see other than rules coming first and adventures after. My journey to my adventure has gone from 2 clicks to 4-5 clicks and spending lots of time searching for the book I'm after.
Speaking purely as a developer, it is strange that these pictures are taking up so much screen space, it could be made much more functional instead of just looking nice. I am also surprised that it was not a higher priority to maintain the customer's journey, this is a significant increase in time to get to the content.
This update is, um, interesting. I hope I can get used to it quickly because it takes a lot more work to find the same information from before. The use of space is very flashy but not efficient at all.

As I shared in the Changelog, mobile is in no way addressed and has updates incoming.
We really appreciate the feedback and will pay attention to what the broader community shares about the menus over the next couple of weeks, after "change reaction" wears down. At that point, we'll be able to assess and make adjustments as needed.
We are currently receiving far more positive feedback about the menus than negative - which I do not share to invalidate your feedback in any way - but to highlight that our broad hypotheses were correct. Now we will dig in on specific, actionable feedback and make adjustments back the other direction to see if we can optimize to make navigation the best it can be for the widest possible spectrum.
A great example of specific, actionable feedback is of the negative we have received, we see a theme emerging regarding the Sources menu - some of you want those sources consolidated and accessible by other means than scrolling through them. We will review and see what we can do about that.
I have to agree as well. Accessing homebrew content for many things is even more clicks. Before I could just mouse over feats->homebrew feats and it was one click away. Now you have to load the feats page, then also load the homebrew page. It severely limits the speed with which I can browse the website.

Oddly I have not seen a lot of posts about enjoying more clicks. I'm certainly not change averse, but I play in several games and bounce back and forth from forums to rules to character sheet and the hover menus were great and their loss causes a lot of clicking.
And I use the site on desktop, tablet, and phone. While I understand the hover menus are challenging on mobile, they're not really difficult, you just long click on the hover to get it to stay, then click. It was still less clicks on mobile than it is now.
What happened to just being able to click Items or Monsters? This new layout is terrible.
As I explained in the changelog entry, consolidation was needed with all of the new game rules and features coming to DDB.
With new things like encounters, vehicles, sidekicks and more coming, we simply could not include every element at the top level. Grouping these into 'Game Rules' allows us to scale as these new elements are introduced.

Agreed. This new layout straight up sucks from a user perspective.

Agree with all of the comments so far, not being able to get to adventures without multiple clicks is a big loss of functionality.
Additionally, when viewing content the sidebar which allowed quick in page navigation has disappeared
Not to pile on but... piling on! WAY TO MANY CLICKS. Put the hover menus back up.
Also several things give you a 404 currently. Looks like things were renamed but old links not updated.

Is there a way to opt out of the TopNav redesign? not only changing org structure of the tabs you also rearranged things. Do not care for it

Could there be a way to add a source/s to a campaign as a relatively short workaround to the click issue?
Otherwise so far I don't mind the new nav. I was having mega issue with the hover menus on tablet, and on mobile, you had to click anyway.

I honestly don’t understand what was wrong with the old menus, I had no problem with them.
