The Global Search is now a mess. It shouldn't be showing me anything from Basic Rules that I can instead find in the PHB.
Additionally, it would be great to sort by source. I haven't purchased the PHB, so I have to scroll way down to find the corresponding rule in the Basic Rules.
Having a toggle somewhere either in the search, or in your profile settings to only search sources you have access to would be awesome!

Came here to say exactly this from the other side of the spectrum, would love to stop the SRD stuff from coming up now that I've purchased the core books, and would love for the stuff that I don't have to stop showing up.

Agree on the SRD stuff not showing once you've purchased the core books. It's redundant. If you have the core books, you should only see those references. If you don't, the SRD should be the search source.
But I disagree with you on non-purchased content not showing in a search. At the very least it tells you where you would find what you are searching for if you owned that material. Otherwise, folks could be confused when coming up with empty searches in your scenario.
Example scenario: I'm new and I've had someone offer an Orb of the Stein Rune as an AL trade. Never heard of it. So I search for it here on DDB, wanting to know more. If I don't own SKT, in your scenario, it would not appear in my search. So I am confused and left with more questions than answers. If it does appear in the search, but I get the current data from such a search entry, I would at least understand where the item is from and that it exists. I think this latter scenario is better than the former from user experience standpoint.

Very good point. Possibly a dropdown somewhere in the search to filter by 'Owned Products' and 'All Products' or something along those lines. Possibly even allow for a easier selection of a group of sources.
For example, if I wanted to search in just the SRD and the Monster Manual for some term, I could select those options like you can when searching for spells. That would be the best case scenario I think.
Having a quick button for 'All Sources' and 'Owned Sources', and then some kind of query builder like when searching spells would make it quick but flexible I think.
Just a simple tickbox”only search content you own” would be nice . For global or other searches. Especially compendium searches now have to first select all books i own to not get content I can’t access

I think this option suggested by you both, added to the advanced search options, would be a fair compromise.
I'd like to see an advanced search option where you can choose which book you want to search for content in. For example, when I was searching about the rules for hit dice, it showed me the results that I needed from the PHB, but it also showed me multiple results from the DMG, MHB, and even the Basic Rules (which I don't exactly need anymore since I have the PHB). I'd like to see more filters to choose which compendium content I want to see in the search.
I'd also like to see a fixed search bar. It's kind of annoying when I'm finished reading a page that I have to scroll all the way to the top just to search something else.
When searching for a specific spell, the top result is usually the Spells compendium page, rather than the individual spell description page. This makes no sense, since clicking the top result forces you to scroll down the page containing every spell.

Oh please no. This would be awful, especially on mobile.
I could see a shortcut for the PC? (adjustable, ideally, since people may have their own shortcuts).
But for mobile, this behavior is already there? I mean, there's that bar at the top that includes the menu button and the search button that stays there while you scroll? Am I misunderstanding something?
I'd love if the search results would be ordered by content I OWN rather than whatever is right now.
I own PHB only. But searching for Paladin (was looking for the class) gives me tons of Paladin results for content I don't own, making it hard to find. So please, sort the results based on content I own first, for the search to be faster.
Formatting Issues, this may be known but in global search:
I am finding odd line breaks within the sampled paragraphs from each response; and
It looks like some background coding is showing up interspersed between the actual content.
If you search Lords' Alliance you should hopefully be able to replicate what I'm seeing (the first issue is also visible in the screen capture from the second or third post of this sub-forum). Thank you.
I also vote for being able to filter out the srd stuff once you've bought books.
I also vote for not including forum results in global search.
Will there be more suggestions for incorrect spelling? I searched for "Arcanaloth" but instead of suggesting the correct spelling it just returned a "you failed your search check" page. If I have to look in my physical books to check the correct spelling then I don't need DDB, do I? 😉

You don't OWN your books on DDB: WotC can change them any time. What do you think will happen when OneD&D comes out?

Charm of Restoration - not coming up in a search but it's in the dmg
Would be nice to search just in a particular book, too.
We definitely need the ability to just search within a book while we're in the book.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but I can't even access the global search since subscribing
Update: Now working but only if I go into portrait when in tablet mode

Doing it even when I'm in laptop mode, but after more playing round noticed it's only when I'm in chrome. Works fine in my other browser
