I would like a priority search, it automatically gives higher priority to paid content.
For example. If you search 'wealth'. If you have the PHB you will still be shown the basic rules first. The PHB is far more detailed and what you actually need.
I would like more refinement. I'd like to be able to focus a search within a specific book in the compendium. If I am running an adventure and need to find something fast then I need to be able to just search the book I'm trying to reference.
Example: I'm ran part of Curse of Strahd and reached a point where a character's backstory was referenced, but the relevant details were buried in a different section of the book. I need to be able to use your search to find that kind of information quickly.
I still need the ability to filter out forum search results. I only need to search your forum when I'm looking at your forum. I do not consider your forum to be a part of D&D Beyond—it's adjacent at best. When I search D&D Beyond I just want to search D&D content. For my needs, including the forum results with D&D content results is comparable to including Google search results.
Can you search specifically in a book? I can't find a search in any of the core books or campaigns I have. There isn't even an index like in the paper books that I can see. Right now I'm still using the paper books since I can find things faster with the index. I must be missing something.
Also, there are items like the 'potion of superior healing' that don't show up in magic or normal item search.

That is weird. The potion of healing (superior) shows up in the global search butt he only potion of healing that shows up in the item filter is a regular potion of healing.
I own the Monster Manual. When I search for a monster in the MM through Global Search and click on it, it then opens up to the first letter of it's name in the MM. For example if I click on Centaur it opens to C in the MM.
The more I use global search the less I like it. I rarely ever get anywhere near what I am actually looking for. I am not sure if this is something that will be imporved the more people use it or not, but having to go below the fold to get to the actual spell listing, or the actual item listing instead of the time it was mentioned in a racial listing, is a little strange.
The actual item, or the actual spell listing should be the first results returned when searching for something specific.

I purchased the PHB via the marketplace so I believe anyone with it should be able to view this content.
Well the first link is for the Monster Manual so that could explain that one. Not sure if you have that purchased or not but that link worked for me. As for the second one I got a 404 as well. I was able to navigate to that area manually, this is the link that I got https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/basic-rules/personality-and-background#Languages notice it doesn't include character details. Also that area should be able to be viewed by everybody since it is part of the basic rules set.
It would be nice if the global search auto completed for us based on commonly used words.
Also it would be awesome if it would make suggestions. Aarakora can't be found because its Aarakocra, but it should at least be close enough for it to guess and help us out. Some of us are spelling challenged lol.

Is there any way to automatically filter out compendium results from global search? If not, I'd like one. It's a bit annoying to go and search for, say, Half-Dragons in the monster manual but get a full page of compendium results from Rise of Tiamat that I can't look at. Actually, now I'm at it, it'd be nice to be able to just search sources I own as well.

If you know the category you are searching for then you can just click monsters or items up the top and it will only give you the listing results
However there is no current way to filter buy sources that you have in global search

I'm not sure how to describe this, but I'd like to see improved hyperlinks to searched terms, or some better way to go right to the results of a search. Especially on iPad.
Last night, in my Out of the Abyss session, a character contracted a disease in the module called "grackle-lung". I wanted to reference the exact rule, so I took my iPad off its keyboard and turned it sideways, so it would be in portrait mode where the global search actually exists, and typed "grackle-lung".
But when I clicked on the link to "Factions of Gracklstugh", the search term was nowhere to be found, and I couldn't easily Ctrl-F and search with my iPad the way I could to find text in a long document on my computer.
As my players sat and twiddled their thumbs, I tried scrolling through the document and eventually I just opened up the book and read it from there. I wish there was a way I could have gone right to the term I was searching. Looking at it now, it's not that difficult to find, but in the heat of a session, I was starting to get flustered because I couldn't find it.
Especially in a case where there's a specific sidebar, which could have its own anchor tag and specific index entry so a search for "Grackle-lung" will return an option to go right to the sidebar named "grackle-lung".

I don't know why the search in landscape mode on iPad isn't more of a priority. Drives me nuts while playing that it doesn't exist.

Because we have a giant list of things that we are working on and we have to weight priority based on the information we have in front of us.
Seeing the feedback here certainly helps us make prioritization decisions, so thanks for providing it. I'll see how we can get this updated.
Thanks!

I'd also appreciate a way to filter out SRD content once I've paid for the real deal.

Any time I have tried searching "languages" from global search the first result links to the following 403
https://www.dndbeyond.com/compendium/rules/mm/introduction#Languages
If you go to the Background section ---> Languages, you get the following 404

It would be great if it treated PHB as an upgrade of the basic rules and stopped displaying 2 results for anything in the basic rules.

I'd like to see the default page ordering changed.
Right now, it seems to prioritize the Compendium Rules over the other sections of the site.
When I search for 'Fireball' the results are (in order):
I would have preferred the second option first. Similarly, when I search for 'Rogue', the results are (in order):
Here, the order should have been 4, 5, 1 (no repeats).
The search should prioritize the extracted sections of the site over the compendium.
