Apparently, with the release of Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, the Tressym has been changed from a Beast to a Monstrosity. Why is DDB showing both versions of the stat block?

The 2 demogorgons are a special case. The 2 tressym are exactly the same creature except for creature type. I couldnt find a reference as to why it is a different creature type, so we can assume this to be an updated stat block (which we've seen happen before).
Tressyms - Some of you have noticed a small change to the Slobberchops the Tressym (and Tressyms in general) for Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. In the new book the Tressym is listed as a Tiny Monstrosity. This is different from the Tressym from Storm Kings Thunder being a Tiny Beast. To resolve this Cat-lamaty of an issue (and also to allow us to show off the Purr-fect Slobberchops Artwork again) there are now Two Tressyms.
Previously when a creature got reprinted with changes the old version got replaced with the updated stats. I'm not complaining, but why is that not the case this time?
How do I add Slobberchops as my familiar? Thanks in advance.
1) you need to have purchased the Tressym(Monstrosity) from Balders Gate: Descent into Avernus, or your character needs to be in a campaign with content sharing turned on and someone in that campaign needs to have that content
2) go to the Extras tab on your character sheet, click on Manage Extras. There you will see how to add an extra. (Once you have added a tressym(Monstrosity) you can customize it to name it Slobberchops.
Thread Necromancer here. I'm assuming this change is BG was for the fact they didn't want druids to get detect invisibility so early on? Or something along those lines

It may not have been changed and instead there are now two versions, like the Demogorgon (fiend and monstrosity)
