This feels like one of those things that companies do to get free labor out of their community. Considering that everything that is submitted becomes owned by WotC, they are able to do whatever they want with any of the submissions put in regardless of if the specific submission wins.
It's just suspect to me, but perhaps I am a bit jaded because I work in a freelance creative field and contests like this are frequently used to manipulate aspiring creatives.

But you get exposure
And, for someone like me that doesn't have any real background in this sort of thing even though I want to do more freelance D&D stuff, this can help WotC and 3rd party companies begin to take you seriously. You don't even have to win, just getting into the top 10 or top 3 would be enough to put on your record.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
So is it just me or is there no actual information about what this is? I see the multiple stages and the guidelines for entering... but not what it is you're actually doing.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.

You'll have to design... something. Exactly what won't be announced until June 17th, presumably so there's less chance that people finding out early have more time than others.

This looks really interesting. I think I might apply, depending on what theme/topic they announce for it. Anyone else thinking of entering?

These seems fine though the line stating that all entries must use guidlines in Xtge is odd.

I have no chance to place, but if I feel inspired by the theme I might make a submission for fun.
