I really want some type of monster book at least. A Draconomicon would be epic but I’d also just take more monsters in general, especially if they expand on some of the less used creature types like Plants, Oozes, Fey, and Dragons.

Dungeons & Dragons will announce another upcoming project this Friday at D&D Live. G4 confirmed that Wizards of the Coast would be featuring a third product at its D&D Live event this week in addition to the already announced The Wild Beyond the Witchlight and Strixhaven: A Cirriculum of Chaos.
Wizards had noted previously that this unannounced product would not be one of the two campaign setting books revitalizing classic settings that were teased earlier in the year.
I wonder if this will mean new UA soon as well. Or maybe it will be a book meant to tie into the previously released Draconic UAs (Ranger/Monk subclasses, dragonborn rework & feats & spells)

Outlier: surprise Drow book. I think the draconic options book is more likely but wanted to put that out there.
I did see in an article that this book wont be tied to one of the classic settings they want to revive, so if they have a plan for Dragonlance then this book wont be related to draconic stuff. I could see Drow based on the summer of Drizzt stuff we have been getting

Wait, dragons are less used? The game is literally named after them.
If you just mean they've been overlooked in the lore though then yeah I kind of agree (it might actually be because they're so visible that no material has felt the need to expand upon them). Again, it's why I'm hoping for Volo's Guide II (or whatever else they decide to call it, another dedicated monster volume is what I mean).
The lack of Dragon Lore is more of a 5e thing specifically. While I can’t speak for 1e or 2e (though I do know 2e edition had Council of Wyrms and a Draconomicon of its own), 3rd/3.5 and 4e had plenty of lore on dragons.
3rd edition especially between the “Draconomicon”, “Dragon Magic”, “Races of Dragons”, “Dragons of Eberron”, and “Dragons of Faerun”, plus several other books, supplements and Dragon Magazine articles expanded on dragon lore.
There are so many types of dragons and draconic creatures like the Planar Dragons, Catastrophic Dragons, Gem Dragons, Undead Dragons besides just Dracoliches, different types of Drakes and Wyverns, Lindworm Dragons, and Dragon Constructs. Not to mention entire Draconic Pantheons. Faerun has several dragon gods outside of just Bahamut and Tiamat, and The Soverign Hosts of Eberron all have Draconic versions that are worshiped by the dragons of that plane.
Dragons have a great deal of Lore, most of it just hasn’t been converted or updated to 5e. It’s why I’ve been craving a Draconomicon for so long, it’s the perfect book to focus on dragons of all setting, as Dragons are creatures that spans most settings and can be found almost anywhere in nearly any environment.

Between the Draconic Subclasses last year and the Dragon UA this year, I'd be legit surprised if this book doesn't heavily feature dragons.
Also, it's the last chance for the Draconic Subclasses to make it to print, else they become dead UA. So I'm really hoping I'm right. I don't want the Drakewarden to die.

I honestly don't think any of the Draconic UA material points to Dragonlance but is more likely the Draconomicon similar to those from pasts editions.

I don't understand. Is there some sort of formal if a UA isn't in a book by X months it gets shelved forever policy? It's my understanding HAs test things out, sometimes teasing for products in a definite pipeline, others a little hazy. But I don't think there's a particular workflow giving UA an expiration date. Stuff that is scrubbed, you hear about that I don't think WotC has ever said "we just ran out of time on this one, sorry folks."

I expect an Underdark book at some point, or another Volo's guide that deals with Drow among other types of monsters, but a Drow book would surprise me. Still, wouldn't be the first time I was surprised.

I mean, doesn't MToF already have a pretty substantial amount of drow lore? With that in mind a dedicated drow book seems unnecessary to me (especially since it'd be harder to fill an entire book with them than it would be for, say, dragons).
A book focusing on drow is not gonna happen right now. It would have to either present them as categorically evil - directly contrasting their current trajectory away from that kind of thing and angering the progressive crowd - or decidedly neutral which would send many of the traditionalists over the edge and contradict a lot of previous lore. Either way it would be controversial. Best to come at this kind of stuff obliquely rather than head-on in the current climate.
Underdark would be cool though, and could have drow content without them being in the center spotlight. I really enjoyed the 4e Underdark book. But I don't think they'd do a setting book in between two other settings books. My money is still on Draconomicon.

Guess you missed this thread, scatterbraind. WotC has already changed the Drow story in the FR with novels starting this summer. It'd make sense for WotC to eventually address that expansion of Drow lore and Underdark possibilities through an actual game product in the near future as well. It'd also sync up with some weirdness with WotC putting out a Feywild book with a circus tinge to it concurrent with the release of Hit Point Press's Heckna! circus horror campaign as another 3rd party publisher with some success doing Underdark oriented works is putting out basically a Dungeoneer's Survival Guide for 5e with the original writer of the AD&D Dungeoneers Survival Guide getting writing credits. But that's just "odd thinking." I doubt an Underdark/Drow book is the most likely candidate, why I called it outlier. It's possible though especially given recent developments in lore. The idea that Drow are untouchable because of controversy is just false, they're already putting books out, game products will come eventually.

I saw that they're announcing a new book on Friday during the D&D live event. Thoughts?
I've got my fingers crossed for a Draconomicon.
Also what do you think the odds of the cover/title being leaked on Amazon again are?
I know it has no chance whatsoever of happening but I'm hoping for a book on exploration, mostly for DMs.
