I've been trying to find a magic item that's I remember seeing in the DMG but I can't find it anywhere. It's a portrait that takes on your visage and prevents you for scaring or aging. I just can't find it.
Sounds like it belongs in ravenloft. Don't know if it will help find what you are looking for (I assume in homebrew) but it's certainly a reference to Dorian Gray.
It sounds like the premise of the Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde (and made into several films). Based on a quick google search this wiki looks like it links it to a 3rd edition artifact:

Interesting I've never even played 3rd edition. I could have sworn I saw it in the 5th edition DMG but maybe not. thank you though
