Honestly, I do NOT want a Windows 10 or Apple OS app for DnDBeyond. At work during my breaks and lunch I work on my campaigns that I DM and/or play in. I do NOT have permission to install anything on those computers (nor should I). I sneak in prep time whenever and wherever (desktop at work, mobile phone, mobile device tablet on the go, etc). My entire setup is meant to work off any device anywhere.
So the things I can't do that I have to do on my home computer is Dungeon Painter Studio when making maps. Or Photoshop when editing/stitching together the world map I'm working on.
Long story short. I never replied to the "whole thread" about wanting a Windows 10 app because I wasn't interested. I assumed it was for those that wanted it (majority or minority I don't even know).
There is ONE way to get what you want upvoted and possibly prioritized in an evidence informed manner that is transparent. That's the feature request system they have in place (that does require a separate registration/login):
I'm passionate about Virtual Table Top / Gameboard. So it's there and I've upvoted it. It's sitting at #4 on Feature Requests.
My only issue with that system is the barrier regarding a new and separate login. I think it doesn't see enough mileage because people don't bother going there.

D&D Beyond is a marvelous tool and resource for players of D&D. One of its strengths is the myriad of purchase options, from using the free resources, to buying individual items, to the Legendary Bundle. That strength can also be confusing to those considering D&D Beyond. This post is written for folks who are considering using D&D Beyond. It lays out several different scenarios for Players and DMs and suggests purchasing strategies for each of those scenarios. There are probably a near infinite number of purchasing options, but this at least gives you a starting point.
Questions for clarity, constructive comments, and suggestions are welcome; arguments about the merits or ethics of the pricing structure are not. (I'll happily engage you about such things in a different thread, just not here).
As a reminder, please respect the original poster's request. Questions for clarity, constructive comments, and suggestions about the OPs post are welcome.
Hi! I have the 5e players handbook on here. How do i apply the new feats to the game my friend is running. He is using the free stuff so we dont have all the feats and martial archetypes.

I’m not sure what you mean by “apply new feats”
If you mean how do you add a feat to your character, outside of the official asi/feat progression, go to the Features and Traits section of the character sheet, scroll to the bottom, and select manage feats.
If you mean how do you share the content you purchased with your friend (and others in that campaign), someone in the groups needs to have a Master Tier subscription and then turn on content sharing in that campaign. [If you only need a few items, you could also just homebrew those items, as private homenbrew is shared in campaigns]
If by “new feats” you mean homebrew feats, any feats or other character options you homebrew are shared in campaigns you are a part of, even without a Master Tier sub (at least that’s my understanding, I haven’t tried it personally). Currently published homebrew can’t be shared in campaigns due to an apparent bug.
Hi, I've been thinking about buying quite a bit, including Master Tier. I do have some questions though. For the annual option it says 25% off the $6 monthly option, yet it says $55 instead of $54. Is that a typo, is the save percentage wrong, or is this some odd calculation of leap days or something?
Also about Master Tier, is there any way to manipulate what the players can see of the content. For example if I'm running SKT and Volo's and have them bought here, could I select parts of them for the players to see? Like only the character races of Volos but not the monsters, or specific chapters/places of the SKT adventure?
I can't answer the question about the year price, staff would need to do that.
In terms of sharing content, right now anything anyone in the campaign has purchased here is visible to anyone else in the campaign if someone has the Master Tier subscription and turns on content sharing. As mentioned in the first post of this thread, in the paragraph for DMs wanting to share content, more selectivity about what is shared is planned, but has not yet been implemented. According to my understanding of what Badeye has said in the weekly developer updates the first thing that will be implemented will be at the source level: so one could ban anything in Ravnica or an Adventure, for example, but one couldn't ban just the monstrous races from Vole's while allowing the non monstrous ones. More specificity/granularity is planned over time, but it won't all be there to begin with.
Is it possible to buy a physical copy of a d&d book (like xanathar's guide to everything) and then somehow get that content on d&d beyond without paying again? One of the main reasons I got d&d beyond was for the ease of character creation, but occasionally it may be cheaper for me to buy the books from other sources.

At this time, all purchases on D&D Beyond are for content on D&D Beyond only. Unfortunately, there is not a way to unlock the digital content if you have purchased the books. We realize and understand the concerns over re-purchasing content, but the material in D&D Beyond is in a different format and platform.
Yeah, I'll admit, my having to buy things a 3rd time (first physical, then Roll20) is extremely frustrating. I'll take any deal I can. Its part of why I've been relying on others for DnDBeyond.
Its also part of why I'm questioning even the small difference for the yearly deal for Master Tier. I want to make sure I'm actually getting the deal offered. I've definitely had it with hidden fees. If any moderator can answer about it, that would be great.
I'm quite frustrated as it is that my players will be able to possibly meta-game the books I'm sharing my account with, even when I buy the subscription, which shouldn't even be a subscription-type service....

Find the link that talks about the options coming up, i know selective sharing was one. (meaning the whole book, not parts of one, but who knows, that may come about as well).
I already own all, and I mean ALL, the D&D books. When we game, I literally have to pack them all in a small suit case for travel. All my players have a D&DBeyond account, just none of the books. Thus me toting around a small library. Since I already own the hard copy books, is there any way to have access to to them through D&DBeyond so that I don't have to pay and pack as if I'm going out for a weekender?

No, it is not possible to redeem a digital book with the hardcover one.
Other people (ie your fellow players) if they own the books on dndbeyond and have a master tier subscription. Those people can create a campaign and initiate source sharing then you can access their books. They are limited to 18 characters split evenly through 3 campaigns.
Sadly, no. Up until recently, none of us had even heard of D&DBeyond until we stumbled on to Critical Role and they were talking about it. So we all decided to at least check it out. But all the books are mine. The maps and figurines are my ol lady's. Normally a friend of ours prints off the character sheets. Another provides the food for game nights. Its all old school. Everyone shares something to the group. I was just hoping that the books could be shared cross platform. It just feels kinda cheap to have to buy the digital books when the hard copies are already in use. I guess I'll stick with the suit case.

Which is exactly when Mehrkat is proposing. Each player can buy a rule book, you buy the adventure that your running and boom. With a subscription that everyone pitches in for, you're ready to go. Certainly no need to buy all the adventures, and you can skip any rule/option books no one is currently drawing from.
It's also worth mentioning that, even if the characters are drawing from various books, like Goblin Artificer and Warforged Oath of Ancients Paladin, it's possible to buy just the bits that are needed (individual races, subclasses, feats etc) and if later you decide to purchase the full book, the cost if reduced by the amount spent on these components, so you haven't lost out.
If I buy volvo's for 30 dollars now and maybe a few others say 5 books 150 dollars. If i want to get the legendary bundle ~500 right now using one of the 25% coupons how does that work. Does it cost 375-150 as I would hope. If that is the case I think I might start buying content so I can ease into that purchase instead of going all in. Thanks!

The Legendary Bundle's price decreases by the amount you have spent. If you spend $30.00 on a book, the legendary bundle price will go down by $30.00. If you spent $22 on a book, the price will go down by $22.00. It's by the value spent only.
What I want to know is does the $30 i spent get taken of the sale price of the legendary bundle or the base price before the sale/cupon is applied.
The $30.00 you spend is taken off of the legendary bundle price. If the book is $30.00 and you get a discount on that book of $5.00, you have spent $25.00, so $25.00 is taken off of the legendary bundle.
Any discount you get on the legendary bundle is applied based on the cost listed for you. So if the legendary bundle lists as $100.00 for you, and you have 25% off, the bundle should cost you $75.00.

I just want to tell everyone "happy gaming" and actually mean it. Whatever your game is, just have fun with it, it is after all, just a game.

The only other option is to buy the books from dndbeyond a private company that licenses the books from wizards of the coast.
