I was just wondering if anyone knew how to create a feature system similar to Ki mechanics? My DM has given each of our party specific powers, and each one goes on a 'point' system (my Rogue can create the Darkness spell using one 'Shadow' point, for instance)
Is there any way to replicate this using D&D beyond? I think this may be the only thing stopping me being a full convert to the system, and any help would be appreciated
Again, if this is not the proper forum for this question, please point me in the right direction
The closest is to make a magic item. It can be set spell charges and you can add spells that use the number of charges/points to cast.

You have to manually track points spent, but Ki is represented as a Action with Limited Uses and the things you can do with it are then listed as their own action.
You can represent this as a Feat, and this should get you pretty close (ability text is just placeholders of course)
Description:
Your training allows you to harness the mystic energy of shadow magic. Your access to this energy is represented by a number of shadow points. You have a number of points equal to your character level.
You can spend these points to fuel various shadow magic features. You start knowing two such features: Create Darkness and Shadow Jaunt. At 3rd level you learn Shadow Clone. At X level you learn Y Create Darkness You can spend 1 shadow point to cast the darkness spell. Shadow Jaunt You can spend 1 shadow point to magically teleport, along with any equipment you are wearing or carrying, up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Both the space you are leaving and your destination must be in dim light or darkness. Shadow Clone Available at 3rd level, you can spend 3 shadow points to create a magical clone of yourself. The clone functions as mirror image, lasting for one minute and absorbing an attack on a roll of 11 or higher.

All mechanics right now are tied to either: Race, Class/Subclass, Feats, or Magic Items. Of those, Feats and Magic items apply best for stuff you gain as part of adventuring. There is not generic "Add these abilities to my character" option. Of Feats vs Magic Items, the stuff you described seemed more like a Feat to me.
From your character sheet, you can go to Features and Traits -> Feats -> Manage Feats to add them outside of your normal ASI progression.
HI all
Apologies if this isn't the right thread

I've considered this, however, and I should have specified, that like the Ki table there are other abilities I gain when i gain levels
Eg 1 shadow point for 1 cast of darkness
1 shadow points for a teleport 30ft to any shadowed area
3 shadow points to create a shadow clone of myself during combat
and so on and so forth
In the description of making a magic item, you can make a list or table can't you?
