From what I'm seeing so far it looks like there isn't going to be overlap with the Tal'dorei guide. So no updated Way of the Cobalt Soul but also getting loads of new information to expand those Exandria-based campaigns. Might just go ahead and hit the pre-order button.
Yeah I think due to the licensing stuff it probably has some ownership under G&S and GR still. I guess one interesting thing we will probably never know is do CR or G&S own Campaign 1 and any content made about it?
For context when the first CR book came out under GR it wass a deal done between G&S and GR so would be interesting considering CRs split from G&S who owns what.

Geek and Sundry do not own any rights to the Critical Role campaign, only to the episodes shown (and I believe those rights were transferred to the Critical Role company). The rights of campaign creation belong to Critical Role (Matt Mercer specifically) and the Tal'dorei campaign book is between Matt Mercer, Green Ronin and James Haeck plus other contributors (like artists for the artwork). Plus, WotC agreements in there since it's for D&D. Admittedly going off memory here, I don't have it with me to verify at the moment.

On the one hand, sad that DDB bois will still forever be denied the Cobalt Soul, outside of bargain basement homebrew versions with no QC and less functionality in the builder.
On the other hand, I'm honestly kinda glad they didn't screw over Green Ronin by reprinting Tal'Dorei content in the EGtW. Ronin went out on a limb back before CR raised over eleven million dollars on Kickstarter and the rest of the business world started tripping over themselves to score some of that sweet nerd dosh, it would've sat poorly with me to see them left out in the cold.
Even if it means that we'll never get a Cobalt Soul subclass worth using, until/unless Green Ronin and DDB can come to some manner of mutual licensing arrangement.

Why would we not get Cobalt Soul? That's from campaign 2, not 1
The three subs in EGtW have already been confirmed. Echo Knight, a fighter sub, and Graviturgist and Chronurgist schools for Wizards. All Dunamancy-related. Cobalt Soul remains exclusive to Green Ronin's Tal'Dorei Campaign Guide for now, save for people who're bad at homebrewing trying to shove them into DDB and doing so poorly at best.
I like the new subclasses, but I'm sad we're not getting an official Blood Hunter or Gunslinger. Matt Mercer did mention in one of the videos that if they were to do a 2nd book to make it shorter, so that gives a possibility of a second book with other content, possibly Tal'Dorei, or some other place on Exandria never visited before.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Matt on twitter confirmed nothing from the first book will be in this one HOWEVER that we may see updates of things from that first book appearing on the DMs Guild in the future alongside other things.

"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
I wonder what it would take to get that one GR book into D&DBeyond and adopted by WotC as official content for 5E.
That will depend on the contract with GR. Some likely scenarios: Matt would have to get the rights back from the publisher and sell them to WotC. Or WotC would have to acquire GR as a subsidiary at which point they'd get distribution rights to all GR content. Those are the two likeliest routes to getting the Tal'dorei guide on here. The third would be if DDB could work out agreements with WotC to allow 3rd party content then negotiate the contract with those third parties to get the digital distribution rights to their content.
Been watching the videos and honestly none of the Wildemount stuff really excites me, I am probably skipping it like I did for AI, Ravnica, Rick & Morty. Hopefully the next book will be something I want, just wished they were not so slow on publishing content.
Bard, probably. Warlock, maybe some of the weirder ones. Sorcerer probably won't get any because Sorcerers Need To Suck In 5e (TM). Artificers might get a couple. I don't see the divine/nature magic classes getting much from Dunamancy spells.
Yeah, sad we don't get an "official" Blood Hunter but I will definitely take those new time/gravity based spells. The Echo Knight is the most exciting for me though, especially after watching S2 of CR... a fighter that can summon a shadow clone of itself to attack is all I ever wanted.
Hopefully Matt will revisit Blood Hunter one day though. It is one of my favorite classes in this game thematically. It is pretty undertuned in some cases, but all it needs is a little optimizing to be truly viable (and is still totally playable in most campaigns). I mainly just want to see more subclasses for it... so many different monster types and forbidden magics for them to utilize (Yuan-Ti, Symbionts, Vampire, etc).
So... how do you all think Dunamancy will be handled? Will it become an official, sanctioned new school of wizardry with its own fully distinct spells, or will dunamancy be considered something like a "sub-school" where certain spells are treated as one of the traditional schools of magic, but have a "dunamancy" tag on them. Like... I could see something like Haste being considered a Transmutation spell, with an additional Dunamancy tag for the purpose of the Dunamancy school subclass.
I think Wizards will do it in the laziest way possible. Dunamancy spells will be distributed amongst the other schools of magic, and the only thing calling them out as 'Dunamancy' will be the section in the Wildmount guide that says "the spells in this list are dunamantic in nature. Whatever that means for your campaign."
Mostly because 4e told Wizards that any upsetting of the applecart, making any sort of meaningful change to D&D, pisses off nerds and threatens their sales, so we're stuck with dumb nonsensical vestigial weirdness like 'Schools of Magic'. Which can never be changed, altered, added to, or subtracted from, lest we risk the Wrath of Oldsters.

It's *in* Campaign 2, but it's *from* the Tal'Dorei guide form Green Ronin
This is just a tiny screenshot showing the letterhead and the section title because I don't want to post more than a splash of published content.

Subclasses aside, I am very interested in the new spells. I wonder which class spell lists they will be added to. (Wizard is a given obviously)
She/Her Player and Dungeon Master

Dunamancy wI’ll be a Wizard Subclass, but not a school just like the War Mage.
