I'm sure like many I have discovered D & D through Stranger Things. I am a complete newbie and have no idea where to start. So much on various threads to take in it's hard to workout where to start.
You should start by reading the Standard Rules document and reading James Haeck's New Players guide. Both should send you well off onto your D&D journey.

Welcome Max! Any connection to Mad Max of session 2 of Strange Things? Alright, silly question, but I also am a fan of that show and I am glad to hear it is bringing new players into the fold. IamSposta already pointed you to the guide and you can find a game on either these or the Roll 20 forums mentioned above which I guess makes this a pretty useless post, but welcome, nonetheless.
