Underdark mode isn't just for Drow. It's for everyone. The all new character sheet dark mode is available now on D&D Beyond. Try it now on your characters!
You can set it from the character sheet, as well! Simply click on the character name or the nearby ⚙️to open the side menu, and then enable Underdark mode directly from the sidebar.
I'm looking for a campaign to team up with my character is an Air Gnesai, with Monk and Paladin abilities that's the character I rolled when I discovered the beyond D&D on my phone app, But I also do have about 4 are 5 five Rifts books I own at my home as well.

I play with a group of D&D newbies, so I generally open up copies of the other players' sheets so I can assist them with their characters when needed. I am getting prompts to try out dark mode whenever I first open up a character sheet.
On my OWN sheet, I can toggle dark mode on and off again at will. I'm not really a dark mode person, but I nevertheless said "YES! I WANT TO TRY DARK MODE NOW!" when I opened up a couple of the other players' sheets. But it turns out that I do NOT have a dark mode toggle for OTHER players, so now they are PERMANENTLY in dark mode.
We need the ability to toggle dark mode for any and all record sheets.
It is very silly to have dark mode as a per-sheet setting, when it's a per-person UX preference. Alternating between dark/light sheets as a DM and getting asked every time I open a sheet whether I want to configure dark mode is a very messy experience and it's surprising that behaviour has persisted as long as it has after the first release of the feature.

Hello,
I would like to say that I prefer it as is. I consider this part of my character sheet customization. Some of my characters use the Underdark mode and some do not. I generally make the decision whenever I build a character (just like I do for frame, backdrop, theme, and portrait). Having it always on or always off would remove that sense of character expression.

Unfortunately, the result of that is an inaccessible UI. For some people, dark mode reduces eye strain and headaches, for others it increases it. The current choice means that DMs who use this as an accessibility feature rather than a method of style expression are going to experience discomfort while viewing character sheets either way.

I can see your point, but I don’t see how the Underdark being always on or always off is the solution. There are frames that work very poorly with either light or dark modes and being able to toggle this one feature won’t fix that. For example, the Underdark mode has significantly reduced my own eyestrain in most cases, but I experience strain when it is coupled with the Midnight theme and I can’t really make things out very well with the Iron-Clasped Tome theme. By contrast, the light mode is normally straining and is an assault on the senses with the candlelight theme, but looks great for me and is far less straining with the Knucklehead theme. This is highly individualized, as I imagine not everyone shares my sensory limitations. One can’t make entire interface decisions based on individual needs. It seems the easier solution is to just ask your players to choose combinations that work for both the player and the DM, who both have to regularly reference the character sheets.

I mean they could just add a setting that allows you to have it on/off by default.
Hello,
They certainly could. As I had mentioned before though, that doesn’t fix the problem of eye strain and if that is not the end goal, there is really no point in putting in the work to design an entirely new feature that essentially does the same thing they already created. No matter what solution a person comes up with for the staff to take time to work in, it will never be as cost-effective nor will it give the users as much control as simply placing the onus on the players to create character sheets that both the player and the DM can use comfortably.

Well no matter what they do eye strain will be a thing simply because different things can cause it in different people. However as far a preference for ascetics go's that is something they absolutly can implement and they could start with letting dark mode have a setting for having it enabled by default.

If I can't say something nice, I try to not say anything at all. So if I suddenly stop participating in a topic that's probably why.

Agreed; they very likely could have done such a thing. If we are discussing aesthetics though, we move into character sheet customization, and every character has its own individual flavor which the staff obviously recognized. It follows that this should be a character choice, where we have been given the ability to add this component to each character we create. Having the feature always on or off would interfere with this personality aesthetic. I really don’t understand why this is an issue. If you don’t like it, then feel free to not use it. If you don’t wish for your players to use it either, ask them if there is a compromise.

Have feedback about Underdark mode? Let us know here.
Can't wait for this to come to the rest. I would love to use dark mode on my campaigns and other pages. DM's need underdark too.
This is great! How long till we can get this for the rest of the site? :D
While this is awesome its such a shame it only on character sheets, while the rest of the site remains as bright as the sun :P :P
keep up the awesome work and hope to see underdark mode come to the remainder of the site in the future
Well, looks great, though almost no good dark backdrops to combine with =/
How do we set it?
I found it. You have to go to the builder to set it... Was not where I expected it.

It looks great. Well done. Can we expect this to cover character creation please? It would be an eye saver.
