The box is open. The adventure has started. Now it’s your turn to add something strange to the story.
To celebrate the launch of Welcome to the Hellfire Club, we’re running a one-week contest inviting you to create a fun, mysterious, or totally strange magic item using the D&D Beyond Homebrew tool.
Whether it’s cursed, clever, or just plain weird, if it feels like it belongs in this world, we want to see it.
I haven't read the module so I have absolutely no idea if my item is in keeping with the setting but my Plectrum of Puppets takes heavy inspiration from a wondrous item used by a fallen Bard from the show.
That inspiration may also be another reason my post is disqualified haha
I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like they want the magic items to have 50 words or less in their entirety. While that seems pretty limiting, I don't want people to have missed that part and not have their entries qualify because they had more than 50 words.
Can someone clarify if the entire magic item entry has to be 50 words or less?

Have mine ready to go! Fingers crossed, Tome of the Well-Versed!
Wanted to create something that felt 80's but played in a space not usually accessible in a typical DND game.

I had assumed that this 50 word limit was for the flavour description only and the mechanic/ effect was separate, but you could be completely right.
@LaTiaJacquise any clarity on this??
The description has to be 50 words or less.
Here is a sample item I created to demonstrate. The flavor text at the bottom should be fewer than 50 words. Let me know if that helps!
