I sincerely hope that after I buy multiple books and modules that the information won't be spread out. I want them organized by playable races, backgrounds, spells, monsters, etc. Not by PHB, MM, SCAG, VGtM, etc.
One is not 'gaining electronic access' to their previously-owned physical copies. One is purchasing a new license for intellectual property offered in a different medium.
One does not receive a free DVD because they purchased the VHS years prior. We all choose which medium to purchase our entertainment, knowing it can be outdated as technology advances. :D
You fail to quote that free is a limited time offer then it goes to 2 bucks for SD and 5 bucks for HDX, and 2 bucks per Blu-ray, not terrible but not free except for a limited time.
That's because I don't care about free... I care about reasonable. :-)

Personally I don't see why there is not a full access subscription option. Say $15 a month for everything, but you don't keep any paid content if you cancel your subscription. I think those of us with a substantial investment in physical books would find that more attractive.
If I buy an adventure on DnD Beyond, will I get access to all the maps and art in the adventure? And for the maps, will there be both tagged versions with DM secrets and untagged versions for players to look at? I know that in Storm King's Thunder, there are several handouts for the players to look at, like Harshnag's maps, the Appendix NPCs, and the diagram of the teleportation network.
People always want freebies. Wouldn't matter if this was a brand new edition and everything. They'd still say Loyalty = Discounts. Just because that's being vocalized right now doesn't indicate that the majority of consumers won't be perfectly happy with this.
You do understand that Curse worked alongside WotC for this project, right? That this isn't some random third party thing unsanctioned by them? So yes, I should have said "well done, Curse and WotC," but your jimmies seem awfully rustled to be so condescending about it.

That argument doesn't really fly - this site certainly doesn't make the physical books "outdated" (that would be more like an Amazon Kindle or RPGDriveThru pdf release) so much as supplement them - and many other companies wisely offer access to digital content with the purchase of a physical copy, such as when I buy a blu-ray disk with a code to the digital file or a comic book with a code to comixology. This is bad business strategy on Wizards' part.
That said, I can certainly understand WotC being reluctant to offering free access to those of us who have already purchased the books, as there really isn't a way to verify those purchases. Going forward they should incorporate a one-time code into future releases of the books so that buyers can have access to content here.
Also, the pricing on the books is blindingly stupid in light of the competition. With almost every other RPG company a digital copy of the book is available with the purchase of a physical copy and if I choose to forgo the physical copy a digital copy can be had for about $10. That is a copy I can take anywhere with me on as many devices as I want in a universally recognized digital format with no need for an internet connection. I *really* hope when this ends up shooting Wizards in the foot, they adjust their pricing accordingly instead of viewing DnDBeyond as a failure and scrapping it. Say $10-15 for the books, with the content being included for free in the subscription. There's a lot of good stuff here - I like the subscription pricing, and will probably take advantage of the reduced price for the books during the first week launch - but I can certainly understand people having a problem with the book pricing, as it shows complete ignorance of the current market.
Maybe when we purchase new books have a discount code in the book for cheaper digital content? I'm gaming on a budget, so these pricing concerns I have for wanting to play my game in a more efficient way are a big deal to me.
If you buy during the first week, they are only 20 each, which means if you get all 3 you are more or less getting one of the books for free.
Right, and if I'm Master Tier I can share with my gaming group... We are talking in group text right now and we are all going in on the books... so, problem solved. I had a little WTH freak out there, but once I remembered about the Master Tier (via io9's interview today with Adam [ http://io9.gizmodo.com/how-dungeons-dragons-new-app-will-make-role-playing-e-1797020591 ] lol ) I got ahold of everyone and it's not a concern now.
Reminder, everyone, don't forget about the Master Tier subscription like I did...lol if you have a gaming group everyone can go in together and get these books for cheap. We're getting all three (3) for $10 apiece :) #gaminggroupforthewin

Absolutely the way to do it. I'll be discussing it all with my group as well, and we might swap accounts over time since we take turns DMing. It all works out in the wash if you have a good group, I think.
Too much for the cost guys. I was pretty pumped to use this. I have most of the books in hardcover already, I am not spending another 125 + a subscription in order to fully utilize the digital tool. You have made a good product, but whoever has set the price point is just flat wrong

I disagree, at that rate it's $180/year every year you want to continue using this. At $25/sourcebook and $30/adventure that's 4 sourcebooks and 2 adventures plus the players sub at $3/month (6 books). If I wanted to play for a second year, that's up to $360, or the cost of 11 more adventures.
So if I invested in this for 2 years at $15/month to have everything as it's released, I could spend the same amount of money on 4 sourcebooks, 13 adventures, and a player's sub for two years, and there aren't 13 adventures out there yet.
Will the books be available for use offline, through an app? Or will I always need to be online to use the content?
You seem to be in the minority with all the complaining and expectation of freebies and discounts from people.
Seriously, how do people not get this by now?

Just thought of this, for the Master teir, is there a way to add more slots for a small fee?
Awesome!
How many people can be on one DM / Master tier account?

Random question, If I don't want to pay for the tiers will there be a free option so I can still use the basic site?

It says the Hero Tier removes adds, so does that mean there is still going to be free access?
