((FYI: I'm going to be out of town camping with the family 5/27-6/1. I'm OK with being NPCd during that time, or pausing things. Either is fine by me!))
Sahuagin 1 is bleeding profusely. It hurls its spear at the party on the spur of the moment, not aiming precisely, and the spear misses the party and eventually kills a small fish.
Sahuagin 2 swims toward Vooaat, snapping its teeth and slashing its claws, but Vooaat is just too far away to reach.
{Either Guus or Eddy can go first. Or we can say it happens at the same time.}
Even though the initial assault by the sahaugin was ineffectual, Eddy knew that tides turn and if you did not act quickly you could get swept away in them. With that in mind, he eyed up the closest enemy. Raising his left arm, he swirled his fingers in a counter-clockwise direction and muttered under his breath, "Barafu". As he did so five bolts of iridescent blue shot out from his fingertips, joining together into one about a meter (3 feet) from his hand. There it shot straight toward the sahaugin. As it passed through the water, it left a trail of ice, like a snakeskin, that quickly melted.
Guus swims forward, positioning himself between his companions and the Sahuagin and angling himself to be within 15 feet of as many of them as possible. "Procan did not grant you the spoils of this wreck, sea devils!" He yells, and lets loose a blast of thunderous energy.
Thunderwave: DC12 Con save or 7 damage and pushed away 10ft, or half as much on a save and not pushed.
((I'm not sure about the positioning or distance, so if it isn't possible to get at least 2 of the sahuagin in the thunder wave I would like to do something else instead. Warhammer attack if I can reach one of the sahuagin, sacred flame if not.))
After Guus’s attack lands, the first sahuagin is still alive, barely, and the second sahuagin goes still. Its body slowly begins to sink. The third sahuagin decides that it is not worth it and swims away. No loyalty there. {Back to Azimuth now.}

The first sahuagin falls! Both are dead. The third has fled. {I’m using milestone advancement instead of xp, so that’s why I’m not going to give you xp for this.}
The shell of the ship wreck appears to be otherwise empty of life, minus the small fish that swim in and out.
Azimuth swims forward to take a closer look, if still no more life can be seen; he will see if there is anything interesting on or around the ship; e.g. valuables, books, information/indications of why the ship went down.

{Is anyone proficient in carpenter’s tools or have a shipwright background?}
Judging from the shackles and chains in the small hold, this ship was either carrying captives or prisoners. None of you know much about the usage of convict labor in the region, but slave labor is legal in the Hold of Sea Princes.
There are some heavily damaged parchments around the ship, and a few bags, half-spilled out on the floor of the ship, contain gemstones and silver pieces. Thankfully you are spared the gruesome sight of corpses; none can be found.
Azimuth and Eddy, you two spot a basket partially filled with candles, which you recognize as candles of the deep, which are very familiar to locathah.
(Azimuth was part of the salvage crews, but no shipwright background or carpenter tools unfortunately)
Is there anything to suggest where the ship came from or was going?
"Well these should be useful" Azimuth says while picking up the candles of the deep; how many are there?

With the Sahuagin dead or gone, Eddy swims down with the others to inspect the ship. Salvage was what he did regularly, but the others looked like they had the goods well in hand. Instead, Eddy headed towards the captain's quarters, hoping to find logs or records of some kind. The records might help them find things that a physical search could overlook. Investigation: 18 Perception: 4
Eddy finds several heavily discolored maps and loose parchments strewn around. The maps are barely recognizable (you think you see the outline of Azure Sea, but that could be a discolored spot, or mold) and the writing on the parchments is extremely distorted, but you think there might be hope these could be restored (by a leather-worker/book-binder). Eddy gathers the parchments up with the utmost care.

Darn, that’s a shame. Well, thank you for playing, and thank you for telling us this rather than just leaving without a word. Maybe another time.
Three sahuagin emerge from the shell of the wreck.
{Your initiative (I rolled for you) and their initiative:
- Azimuth: 24
- Vooaat: 19
- Sahuagin 1: 18
- Sahuagin 2: 17
- Guus & Eddy: 6
- Sahuagin 3: 4}
Azimuths shoots his bow at Sahuagin 1:
Attack: 22 Damage: 13

Guus will also look through the wreckage, checking for anything of value but also keeping an eye out for danger.

There are 18 of those candles of the deep. Do you want to be responsible for all 18 or divide them among the team?
The coinage might suggest where this ship came from or was going. That would be a history check.

Vooaat takes his candles, putting them in easy reach on his pack, and going back to trying to stay watchful as the others search.
