In your time speaking with the Alderman he seemed... very put off with the whole interaction with you, but when it came to talking to Ean he seemed fine. You've heard about him acting like this before but you've never really had much interactions with him.
Korey makes it back to an empty shop, Vance still out delivering goods and conducting other business.
What time of day, and how far of a walk is it to the great oak?
Once Korey arrives back at her house, she makes a quick meal of some cured meats and some vegetables and carries it out to the workshop. She sets her plate on the work table and pulls up a seat. She begins to nibble on her snack, while musing over the recent interaction with the Alderman and the townsfolk on her way home. Everyone seems a little too friendly today. She then looks over to the corpse of the worg, trying to decide if she actually wants to tackle this chore right now. Things are nagging at her mind. Maybe another trip out to that old oak to get a better look in the light.
It's right before mid day now, about 11. Since it's light out it would probably only take you about an hour to hour and a half to get to the Great oak. You know the path pretty well.
After finishing her meal Korey decides to journey out to the old oak again to see if there is anything else of note to be found, and to get a look inside the cave. She quickly gathers her gear and sets off towards the tree.
Korey makes her way back through town, and then out to the forest. Following the game trails that she grew up with, making sure to look around for anything out of the ordinary or wild life that may mean her harm. She makes it to the glade where she fought the worg and can still see signs of the battle that the forest hadn't yet wiped clean. Making her way to the mouth of the cave, she stops and looks just inside. Looking into mostly darkness, very little light makes it in. Just enough that she can make out the walls and ground before her.
Please roll the following if you want to proceed into the cave:
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When she gets to the mouth of the cave, Korey takes a torch from her pack and lights it. She continues through having her shield on and the torch in the other hand.
At the opening of the cave Korey notices the claw marks on the ground, assumable from the Worg entering and leaving the cave. She creeps down slowly making sure not to make any sudden movements. The cave hasn't changed much in the many years that she's lived here, it wound down a little ways and came to a big opening. In the corner there was some dirt and branches piled up. She could just barely make out something laying on top of the branches, caution caused her to stop and just observe. It looked like another large beast was in the cave with her.

Korey silently curses her inability to not be able to discern more about this beast. Son of a... So, what are we gonna do, Korey? She decides to back up some but keep the form in the dim light provided by her torch, so she can watch it for a moment.
After just observing for some more time can she at least tell if the beast is alive? Another investigation check?? 15
Moments pass and Korey's muscles tense as she waits and observes. There is no movement from the large creature, but she can hear a faint rustling. Some low whining almost noise, to high pitched for a big beast.
Korey cocks her head to the side at the sound it emits - the sound not matching the size of the beast before her. Curiosity getting the best of her, she decides to get a closer look. Before approaching she slides her arm through the handholds of the shield so that she can move the torch to that hand. She draws her scimitar and cautiously approaches the animal.
If it comes to combat Korey will drop the torch so that she can securely hold onto the sheild
Korey slowly walks over to the pile of brush. Waiting a few feet away and notices to breathing from the large animal, but still sees some rustling in the branches. Inching forward even more she is able to stand over the beast, another Worg but this one already dead, and a pup Worg laying on its back and playing with it's feet.
Relief sets in seeing the pup, but immediately turns to pity as a crisis of conscious hits Korey. I'm no beast master. I can't tame this thing, and no one in town would want to train it...Definitely can't leave it here, or it will just be another problem to deal with in a year or so. Having decided what she believes is the best course, she sheathes her sword. As she slowly kneels down next to the pup, she draws out her dagger from her hip. Her hand shakes as her as the tip of the blade draws nearer to the creature's neck. C'mon, Korey...It hasn't even had a chance to hurt anyone, and it doesn't have to if raised right...right? Fighting back tears of taking the life of a helpless, innocent creature, "Gods be damned!" She puts the dagger away and looks for a ration in her pack. "Dad is gonna kill me..," she holds up the ration for the abandoned pup.
Can she tell how the dead worg died, or how long it's been dead?
The pup nibbles on the ration that Korey is trying to give it. After a few bites, and a taste, it tears into the ration vigorously. It seems the pup may not have eaten for some time now.
Looking over the other body, Korey can discern that the mother has been dead for two or three days now. Signs of rigor and the smell of death is emanating from the body. There appears to be no wounds on the body that would give way to how the animal died. Some kind of internal injury potentially.
Korey spends about an hour just sitting next to the young beast so that it will allow her to approach and show it she means it no harm. While sitting there letting the worg nuzzle up against her she begins to form a crude harness from her rope. She offers another ration and begins to scratch it behind its ears. "That's a good one," she keeps her voice as motherly as she can muster. Once she feels it may be more relaxed, she slowly tries to slip the harness around it. "Okay, we're gonna try something new here. Just take it easy there."
Korey working to not upset the pup, but also get it in it's harness spends about thirty minutes in the endeavor. She would get one leg in, and then the pup would pull it out as she got the remaining front leg in. As frustrating as it was, it did bring a smile to her face. Once the pup is finally in his harness he shakes a couple times trying to get it off, but Korey petting him and scratching him behind the ear makes him stop his trying. While the pup is still skittish of Korey making any fast movements, it doesn't overtly try to run off or really snip at her.
Satisfied that she has the worg secured, Korey begins back towards town with the beast following behind. Every now and then she will look back and coax it along with a ration of dried meat. All the while on the road back she wonders how she is going to try to explain this to her father.
It takes Korey the better part of an hour to get back to the village. The whole time the Worg pup trying to keep up with his scrawny legs. Korey stops a few times to give the pup a snack to keep it happy and continuing along the way with her. Korey makes a round about way out of the forest so that she can exit closest to her home which is on the edge of the town.
If you want to look and see if anyone is around roll perception, if you wanna sneak stealth, if you wanna pick up the pup or do anything with the pup right now roll an animal handling please. (that was everything i could really think of that you would want to do. if there is anything else roll what you think and we'll make it work lol.)
She pauses and kneels down at the worg pup she before walking towards the house. "What am I going to do with you," she asks it while giving it a scratch behind the ears. "Are you gonna be good for us?" Standing back up she sighs, "C'mon, lets maybe go meet Goose....that's doesn't mean you're getting fed."
